Exactly, this video is really unhelpful. I can connect with the cable but it will not connect without plugging in. This system is not as good as my old Ford Fiesta. That had a CD player, used for memory stick for other music as well as radio. Now I have an android screen that I can't do anything with. Some upgrade!.

@@teentechnology9855 Actually I am very tech savvy. I was buildng computers and working with them long before windows came out. I have been working with computers ever since. One of the golden rules was to de-bug before you released anything. Android will be great one day but it's not ready yet.

Depending on the year it will have to be connected via USB to get android auto to show up on screen. Mine is 2017 only works while plugged in. I think the 19 and up can use Bluetooth for android auto or Apple car play.

2021 ford transit custom works but on and off. Phone using was google pixel 6 which work on many cars i have driven. Haven't tried the wireless method but since plug in doesn't work properly let alone wireless.

When I add an extra phone (exactly the same type of phone) from my wife, the sync doesn't work. Mine is working great. Bluetooth connection of my wife's phone is working fine. But the Android Auto screen doesn't pop up on the car's screen. I installed the same version of Android Auto, with the same settings. Why doesn't it appear in the list as in the video (2 min 26 sec)? I have the same problem. I installed first phone, worked perfectly. Installed the second one and it worked perfectly and the next day the car refuses to connect to either one of the phone. What should I do ? The car only connects to phone by bluetooth. I tried stopping the bluetooth, tried different cable, tried restarting the phone and stopping the car, wait 5 minutes turn car engine on again, plug again the cable in the car then on phone and the phone is charging but no android auto showing on car screen. What should I do ?

The voice controls don't work. Have a ford focus. I have taken it to the dealership but they have not fixed the issue. Especially the navigation and play, play all.

We would definitely recommend you try a new cable, the OEM cables seem to work better than third-party. Also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Android Auto app

Yeah. Wireless projection does not work in the 2019 Ford Edge. So disappointing.

Hope this helps someone, but, for Android auto, I could not get it to work. I finally took it back to the installer place and they farted around with it for a few minutes and discovered some setting that was wrong and now it finally works for me. I did not ask what it was or have them show me because I dont really care anymore since it works. lol. But I think there might be some setting that has to switch from apple to android? I don't know.

It can depend on the specific vehicle and model of your Android device. Without actually seeing the vehicle, our best advice would be to take it into your local Ford dealer and see if they can connect it for you

Fr. Jack Kearney Sync 3 will work wirelessly with android auto, as long as you have a android device that is compatible with it, some older android models don't work wirelessly but still work when plugged in. And as long as the 2019 Transit connect has Sync 3, which is the larger 8 inch screen, it would have the same functionality, any Ford vehicle with Sync 3 has the capability.

@@Amin_2k it 100% does not support wireless CarPlay or AA from the factory. You can buy adapters though to add this functionality.

I had the same problem. I changed the usb cable and it works fine now. Use the original that came with your phone or buy another one that's compatible.

Right and this is what everyone is saying but I haven't seen anyone actually go wireless. I have the pixel 3xl, Google's newest phone and Ford's newest Edge. Just wish they were honest about this stuff. Obviously it doesn't work.

Try going into phone settings and clear all data from google play services and remove all vehicles from android auto and android auto basically reset and start new

you cannot use both together. your demo is not quit that easy.
