Great video, thanks for posting this! I'm glad you got it working. I may have missed it, but did you try it with 3V battery power as well? I'd be curious to know if that works. -Andrew, MintySynth

Yes 3V works fine, not sure if it would affect battery life too much. One strange thing as I said in the video, if I use 220 Ohm then the MIDI software went a bit crazy?

I'm not sure why that would be--was it true when you used 3V too, or only 5V?

It was on both 3 and 5V, the 220 resistors was cheap carbon film from ebay vs metal film from RS it could even be due to the very cheap USB to MIDI device.
