I have the MacBook Pro 16" 2019. I don't see the "air play" icon in the very top bar of the screen. What is wrong? (I am looking for it BEFORE going into settings on the Samsung TV. Should I go into the TV first? I already have my iPhone 7 set up to mirror on that Samsung. Will this complicate things if I want to have multiple Apple devices mirror screening on the same TV set? Thank you.

I have no Apple Airplay settings on my Samsung TV. In 'General' the only options are: Game mode, menu transparency and melody.

Worth adding you can go firther into the macbooks display settings and drag the screens into a suitable arrangement. i.e. You can drag the mouse actually in the direction and onto the screen as your won eye see it.

Every TV will sound much better with external speakers like a soundbar. I have review many different kinds on my channel. Give them a look.

I have a brand new Samsung Series 7 tv and an older Macbook. The first time I followed your video this worked perfectly. Upon connecting the next time I could not connect, inspite of having selected "enter code the first time only". I get an error message on the tv saying unable to connect because of application or network interference. Any guesses what's going on?

Hi - thanks for all your videos. I just bought a Samsung Q60 series tv and I have a MacbookAir (MacOS Sierra 10.12.6) and I can't find the tv when I click on the Airplay symbol at the top. I'm probably doing something wrong - can you guide me? (I'm on the same wifi, bluetooth is on).

I have an older MacPro and it doesn't have the icon you are referring to. In settings it does show I have airplay capabilities. My Samsung TV is a newer one, but my MacPro is a 2012. Any suggestions?

Did you ever figure it out? Just got my tv delivered today. My phone works but not the older macbook air. The macbook air can connect to the apple tv on the older tv in the bedroom though. I'm at a loss.

I was able to connect to my brand new s90c with this! But unfortunately it has a noticable lag. I wonder if its cause theyre at different refresh rates or just screen mirroring is not at that technology where it's smooth just yet. Thanks for the vid.

Hey Juan - I thanked you for this video - I have 2 questions: 1.) is there a protector cover for my touchpad on my MacBook Air (I don't think Cheetos residue should be on my touchpad)? 2.). Not sure about a cover, but as for the mirroring question, Apple TV would be the most reliable.

When I click on the airplay icon at the top it says "Open displays preference" and wont do anything else. I checked to make sure I'm on the same wifi

I have a MacBook Air and a Samsung 6 series tv. so confused because I can airplay youtube but when I try Hulu it only shows the words and just a black picture, any suggestions? if the tv is too old then I wouldn't think that youtube would work on it.

my airplay sadly doesn't show up-

For some reason this isn't working for me. I'm trying to connect my macbook to a Samsung TV that we bought brand new in 2019, and it just keeps saying "could not connect to *insert tv name*" I'm fairly certain this is a TV problem since I've connected to dozens of tvs as part of my job, but I don't know what's causing it since my Samsung does have an Airplay feature. EDIT: Annnd I guess it was the Macbook after all...I restarted it, didn't seem to do anything. But I turned my Wifi on and off on my macbook, and then it worked! It asked for the code on the tv screen and I punched it in. Quite the saga, but glad it's working.
