HOW TO COMPRESS REAR BRAKE CALIPER STUCK
► Our Website: mechaniclifestyle.com
Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to compress rear brake caliper. Most of the newer vehicles will use that procedure. The brake caliper compressor tool is very inexpensive and we would recommend to get it. It will make your job easier. It is doable without the tool but you can damage your caliper.
Most of the rear brake calipers you will nedd to turn them clockwise with the compressor tool in order to compress it.
Always clean the piston and lubricate it in order to prevent damage to the seal.

    You should be using that back plate provided so it doesn't keep popping off. Also the LEFT and RIGHT tool is NOT for left and right side on car. It is for left handed thread and right handed thread.

    Bruh lol I've changed my front brakes about 2 or 3 times myself because I had 2 of the same car, I guess I always had the rear done because I got all the way down to the c clamp and it wouldn't go down even with the old brake inside of the caliper. I looked it up and found this video and now I have to apologize and take my knees out to dinner for wasting their time and quality 😂

    I turned mine clockwise and anti clockwise while pushing in. Seems to go in either way. Clockwise just seems easier because you're using your thumb part to exert more pressure. Just make sure the holes line up with the pins on the pads.

    The needle nose pliers worked after all there was a little bit of build up around the bleed screw and it kept the fluid from releasing and was the reason I could not compress. After the fluid started coming out, the issue was gone. I would recommend checking/cleaning around the caliber.

  • @EasyLube

    Not trying to knock you or your helpful videos, but just so you know, white lithium grease/spray is a petroleum based product and will damage/swell the rubber boot & seals on the caliper piston. The proper grease/spray to use is a dab of silicone grease or spray. Silicone is rubber & plastic friendly.

  • @johnmilner7603
    @johnmilner76032 жыл бұрын

    2:47 you should use the tool properly. You forgot to add the flat metal plate that rests against the caliper and keeps the threaded rod straight and tight. This also will need to be tightened using the collar that is on the threaded rod.
