Thank you the The Frugal Analyst. I obtained quotes from Farmer's, Wawanesa, Geico, including a revisit from my current carrier, 21st century. I kept coverage the same and decided to go with Geico. I am now saving $396 every six months or annual savings of $792. Thank you for posting this on your channel and glad that I'm saving. I agree with you - we should revisit our insurance every one to two years as insurance carrier's are not created equal.

Price is important, but coverage is what pays the claim. A lot of times internet Insurers will sell you any policy, but not explain why you’re getting that coverage. It’s best to work with a human that you value and trust. For your liability coverage, consider your net worth and work backwards. If you were to injure someone in an accident is your income and assets protected? As someone mentioned in the comments, if you’re a homeowner in CA you may want to increase your liability to much higher limits than you currently have. You might consider an umbrella policy as well to make sure your income and assets are protected. Also, for homeowners coverage it’s important to review your policy regularly. The Dwelling Coverage will pay up to that limit amount. A lot of times people buy insurance and forget it. If you haven’t adjusted the dwelling coverage in many years you may be underinsured on the dwelling. I hope this helps with coverage!

Hey Ryan! Great video to teach people how to be smart. I'd like to suggest two things. One for you personally, if you do really have a TESLA and own a home, look into increasing your liability coverage on auto and adding an umbrella liability policy. Nothing worse than seeing people trying to save on their monthly budget go bankrupt because they were skimping on the big picture coverage. Your policy would only cover another persons vehicle(s) for up to $25k, and as a TESLA owner you know $25k doesn't cover half of the newer cars out there. Second, Independent insurance agents (brokers) work with several companies and have software technology that they pay for to help shop rates for their clients all the time, very efficiently. It's why financial gurus like Dave Ramsey suggest using an independent agent, not only for advice, but for options in coverage/price.

I agreed with you about switching insurance company every 3 to 4 years. These insurance companies are blood thirsty. I don't like to switch insurance, but it makes me doing it. I used to have AllState for many years and my premium keeps rising. Then, go to Liberty Mutual, then Hartford (1st Insurance company that comes to my home and take photos inside and out), now with AAA. I'm about to change AAA. My wife and I used to pay about $2500 a year for auto. Then, adding my daughter into policy. it jumps to $4100 a year for 4 cars. Then adding my son. Now I paid $4800 a year just for 4 cars in DC metro area. I want to find an insurance that does't increase much and maintain my policy for a long time. So far, these crook companies hook me a low for 1st year then keeps increasing. Last week AAA sent me a check for $140 back for not driving much during COVID-19. Dang, it's a lot where I paid them $4200 last year.

I so agree these blood thirsty insurance companies are really getting over on people I am tired of having to shop around every year because these insurance companies are sneaky and like to raise the cost on you thinking you wont decline because you're too busy to shop around. I hate how State Farm sent my insurance bill to my mortgage company before contacting me first to discuss the new premium cost and if its something I want to move forward on just a sucky world we live in....

I've been thinking about investing for the last year. I will make sure to make a video on it. In general, the waterfall for me is to 1. invest in yourself 2. invest in what you know 3. invest in people you trust 4. invest in the markets. If you have invested all you can in the first 3 and have money not doing anything.... there is nothing wrong with using index funds to invest in sp 500. I outlined some high level research here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWthk5Wuori0YJM.html&ab_channel=TheFrugalAnalyst

Most people think all the insurances are the same, so the cheapest is the best. I personally think this mass way of shopping around is wasting the labors and resources in the society. By looking at the coverage in the screen, they are not good policies for risk management. People's situations keep changing. I would prefer finding an independent, reliable and professional agent to get customized policies with good value, and stay with the agent for a while. And it is important to have an annual review of the policies to meet the constant changing situations.
