I also saw in another tutorial how to start OBS also minimized (and skip update check, I guess it is important, otherwise instant replay would not work once update is found). So you add " --startreplaybuffer --minimize-to-tray --disable-updater" (without quotes, with a space after executable path) to the target in the shortcut. You can also add to the end "--disable-shutdown-check". I noticed, if computer is restarted or shutdown without manually closing the OBS, every time you launch, it would complain about starting in safe mode. By adding this argument, OBS will ignore it and start as usual. Great and informative video, thank you!

I used to have an AMD graphics card and got pretty addicted to making GGST clips with the Radeon ReLive software. Then I got a really good opportunity to upgrade my GPU for cheap. One issue though, now I have an Nvidia. Man... GeForce Experience is pure trash. It is the single worst piece of software I have interacted with this year. Cheers for letting me back into the world of clipmaking.

One quick question whenever I turn on my pc again, or after restart I keep getting the "OBS Didn't shut down correctly" is there anyway to get away of this?

What resolution does it produce?

Hey man I’m hoping to get a reply, great vid btw. I watched this and your settings for obs video, is there any reason why my replay buffer isn’t clipping the amount of time I’ve set it to? I have it set to 120 seconds and it clips different amounts every time. Usually between 20-40 seconds and 1 time it clipped over a minute.

He essentially just shows us how to activate the clipping mode on startup and how to use it. They should end up in the directory listed in your settings (Settings > Output > Recording > Recording Path. Should be at the top.).

does it use less hardware than geforce?

i need help, i set to to 60s, and it only takes 5 seconds clips

is there any way to have it run on startup with administrator? I always have obs running as admin but I noticed when I startup my pc the shortcut doesn't open. appreciate it!

Should be able to go to properties menu then compatibility tab and check run as admin

@@thetikfn nah ik the issue was bc it would get stuck at the yes/no page for “do you allow obs to make changes to this device” which stopped it from popping up. i ended up just using a batch file and the task scheduler as a workaround. preciate it tho

i get an error when obs opens that says "recording failed" or something like that

Does anyone know why saving two videos with replay buffer includes segments of the first? (basically doubling down on recordings). Makes it extremely hard to edit any replays as they can't just be placed next to each other like on Shadowplay. not sure why. help!

hey man sorry to be a pain but when i right click my OBS and go to properties all i see it General, Web Document, security, details, and pervious versions no "Shortcut" bit at all. if you could help with this would be great thanks

That just means you aren’t right clicking a shortcut to OBS, most likely you are right clicking the actual exe. You can right click and hit create shortcut and that should have the path

Well you shouldn’t record or stream with replay buffer it can easily kill your frames unless you have a god tier pc
