You've started a movement in this niche with the credit card ladder system. Although the ladder stays pretty consistent every year, I'm happy to see you've added a tier 3.5! Every year you make one of these, it's an automatic click from me. Keep it up Ben!

I was at tier 4 for a while with my Amex Platinum but I decided to cancel it last year because it basically become a coupon book for someone who lives in NYC. Lounge access was nice but when you travel with friends and family it's dog shite now. I'm pretty happy being at 3.5 with my Amex gold and love it. It's my driver. I think if they can make some Major changes to the Platinum and be family travel friendly, I'll give it another chance. Eyeballing the Venture X card too.

@@TheCreditShifu %100. I'm looking at $150-$200 in guest fees if I bring the fam. For that amount, I can go to the airport bar and grill. I think this will hurt Amex Plat in the long run. Honestly, who's going to spend $75k a year just so they can bring in guests for free? Not many.

Tier 2.5 for me lol. Team cash back with a few low annual fee cards that give great value and bunch of no annual fee cards.

Teir 3.5 is definitely a necessary addition and where I think we will start to see more card companies focusing now that we are headed for a recession. Something more along the lines of a "value premium" card. Chase could probably do something on that level between the csp and csr and call it the select.

My strategy is to put spending on the Chase Trifecta (CSR, CFF, CFU) and Citi Custom Cash and go after Tier 3 sign up bonuses. Some of these Tier 3 cards I keep as sock-drawer cards (Alaska Airlines Visa, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless) and others I downgrade after 1 year (United Explorer, Delta SkyMiles Gold).

It would definitely be a smaller niche than normal but with more global nomads and ex-pats every year it would be good to see a few trifectas or more simple card setups focused on life outside the USA?

Interesting how theres a huge gap between tier 4 and 5. Like it went from $40k income for tier 4 to $10m in assets for tier 5. Like there should be a tier 4.5 or a full tier in between.

Jesus what is with all these spambots in the comments lately? Not that your content isn't good, I think it's great, but all of these bots praising you is clogging up the comments and burying the actually relevant comments.

Alright so.. I have around a 695 credit score and I only had two credit cards for the past 6 years with capital one and in general (quicksilver and savor one) after like 2 years since I applied for the 2nd card (savor one) i went crazy and instead of climbing the credit card ladder, i jumped straight for the venture x and surprisingly got approved with a 10k limit. Was that a good or dumb move? given that i basically skipped the credit card ladder?

Hey Ben! Your video was entertaining and informative, but you're right about the hair. Yikes! I tried to give you credit for the Max Rewards thing, which seemed pretty cool. Unfortunately, it couldn't log into either my Chase or Citi accounts, and that's 7 cards it wouldn't track, so I deleted the account. I'll give you a like for the video, however. Cheers!

Hi Ben, been subscribed to you for a while now I really appreciate all the content you put out as it has taught me so many things that have added value to my life🙏🏽 I’m looking into getting my first business credit card. I’ve been operating a sneaker reseller business throughout 2022 as a sole prop with a EIN. Im in the process of creating an s Corp with a new EIN. If I get a business card with my sole prop EIN, would it be easy for me to change the EIN to the new EIN I receive for my s corp? Thanks again for all you do for the community, all the best!! 🫡

I seen millionaires go broke within the first year so the black card is not the answer you still can’t hold a balance on it keep in mind it’s still a credit card but the key thing is they hooked up to your bank account if you don’t pay your balance in full they will just take it out your account and you will never know and when you going broke you can’t close the account with them because now you have a huge balance amount and your credit score will drop huge and other banks will know 🤔🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼🤷🏻‍♀️💳🧉🏝🥭
