What a good boy! ...Reminds me so much of my golden while I clean his ears. ...ALL THE TIME. The zymox products seem to be quite good (I've tried everything). My only knock is that the Otic Enzymatic Solution has a weird ability to make the hair stick together, and turn into a giant mat very quickly. So I take a simple metal large tooth comb and comb through the wetness to reduce the potential. It still gets messy however. Otherwise, a good product.

How many applications might it take to cure a mild infection where there is only a mild yeast smell and mild inflammation? My dog always wants the inside of the ear rubbed because it always has that itch button. I don't think it is ever out of control but always in the back ground. Her ears stay pretty clean considering though. Thanks

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. #2 - Do we do the Clean solution 1st & then the Optic? I wash her head with a cloth NOT under water or dump it on her head. Thank you great video

Hi Dr. Lindsay..I could not believe about the cotton ball...we'll have to try that however a Golden's ears are bigger does that matter...my dogs ears are much smaller.. We use Zymox for a long time and it does work. Great Video!

What about the liquid & debri that went FURTHER down and into the canal. Isn't that then stuck in the ear and a problem? The debri got washed down there. And does the wet dry out? No one answers that question. TY , you did a good job .

Mine snapped at me when I tried to put cotton ball down there after I poured liquid. Then he cried a little when I stuck the cotton ball down there. You have a very well behaved dog. I'm going to try again tomorrow with squirting cottonball and putting it down there !! Thank you !!

I used it on one of my dogs ears that was pretty red and scratched in hopes that it would soothe it and she would stop scratching it. I thought the other ear might have been irritated too so I did that ear too. The next day the ears looked like it got a bunch of dry blood inside of the ear, way worse than it looked before I used the product. I put a cone on my dogs head so she wouldn’t mess with it so I don’t understand why it looks as bad as it does? I tried looking at it to see what exactly it was and I could tell she was clearly irritated by it. I’m going to take her to see a vet but was hoping for some possible feedback

Hey! Please go see your local veterinarian, your dog may have a bad infection that needs antibiotics or anti fungal oral pills

Because the consistency of the ear solution is more like oil

I haven't bath my 3month old Gs puppy and his ears is a lil bit messed , it'll be a lot of work.

It says in instructions to NOT clean the ears no matter how gross (my words lol) Put it straight in dirty ears and don't use any other products in ears while using this (even water)

I have a shar pei he hates the site of the ear cleaner bottle. Will the cotton ball method work for ear infections cleaner? I've been using the Ecoears all Natural dog ear cleaner but he hates the site of the bottle so pouring it directly in the ear is out of the question he won't even let me use the bulb syringe. I have been using 2x2 gauze soaked in the cleaner but I don't know if I'm using enough. I can't find the zymox cleaner for infections

After using Zymox for a few days the hair along her neck and around her ear flap are super greasy. what's the best way to clean this hair without bathing. The ear infection finally went away, so I don't want to cause another one by bathing. Just want to clean up the greasy hair.

Hey! Oh gosh the greasy hair is hard to get cleaned! But you can use Dawn dish soap and gently clean that ear hair without getting it in the ear canal.

Use the Zymox in the infected ear .. you don’t have to clean the ear just put the product in it and do this once a day for 5 days ... if still not better please go to a veterinary clinic

Tnanks a lot! This is very important, I have experienced the problem with my husky. She came to my home when she was 2,5 months, she was examined and the vet said that the ears were ok, I tried to clean the ears, but I had not been instructed about the technique so she developed a serious ear canal infection over 2 weeks! She had to undergo antibiotic therapy... It is particularly important for "diggers" which keep contaminating ears with soil. But here, you have forgotten to mention that in general dogs dislike the procedure, and they must be vastly rewarded each time after the procedure... (In my case, following another advice by Doctor Lindsay, it is a boiled egg). Greetings! =^^___)

Hello Doctor, My Dalmatian puppy is not eating anything her throat is swelled (swelling) after she straightly ate a strip which I gave her to chew but she did not chew it she ate it in only two bites now her throat is swelled. yesterday she had fever but now fever is gone but still she is not eating anything also she is vomiting every morning from past two days. You don't stuff it in there. Just dab the outside lightly if it gets in fur. Otherwise the animal will shake it out on their own. Just wipe the outside, then dab the ear a little, dont put it IN the ear. Hope that helps.

I wish that people had to deal with it themselves once . So they could take it more seriously . These dogs would not ever allow their owners one moment if discomfort . Please ask someone for help if you cannot get it dond for sny reason by yourself . Mske it happen for them . They deserve to live pain free

I would have 2 people there to help you and have one person hold the dog and console him while the other person flips the ear back and works on cleaning the ear.

I think it's a good idea to do so whenever they are noticeably dirty, or if the animal is displaying signs of discomfort related to a dirty ear. I think a good habit to have is while petting or cuddling with your animal do a quick inspection of the ears, paws, and body.

I am trying to find a more thorough comprehensive video on the ear solution. So we’re just supposed to put this ear solution in the ear and let it sit until the next day it seems like it just keeps building up and building up and my cats ears look dirtier than before I want to clean them out not necessarily with a cleaner just a regular cotton ball to get the gunk out of there

LOL ALL animals shake their head when you put liquid in the ear! It's a natural reaction. Ever notice when they get wet they do it? Same thing. His ears were probably sore from infection as well, but she didn't do it.

You just have to do what you have to. You HAVE to rub the ears like that so it will get down into the ear canal. The infection causes waxy build up that can block the medicine from getting down to where it needs to be....so you have to break it up a little. Sometimes medical treatments are uncomfortable, just like people, but you have to do it for their own good.

This woman is terrible when it comes to cleaning a dog‘s ears! She needs to bring a groomer on the channel to teach how it’s accurately done.

I've been cleaning my cockapoo's ears the hard way! Her ears are small enough that there's no way a cotton balI will vanish.. I'm m not using q-tips on her ears, I'm too scared!zymox cleanser really works. It busts all the wax
