How to clean drive by wire Throttle Body on most KIA Vehicle
You can clean drive by wire throttle body without opening the butterfly valve with the proper cleaning brush. This vehicle experience poor idle and sometimes stalling, I recommend throttle body cleaning and here are the step by step process. NOTE: opening the butterfly valve without unplugging the connector sometimes required calibration.

If you move that butterfly valve as you clean it, it's totally screwed up and no way to repair / reset. Not a cheap part either..
Ive got a 2006 kia rio and its is sluggish on acceleration it idles rough. And even worse when the ac is turned on ive got no engine codes and nothing major going on. Do you think this may help my issues with the sluggish acceleration in stop and go traffic.
There's no way you just pulled that thing up out of there without disconnecting something else... I'm trying to pull mine out to get to the backside, but it seems impossible without disconnecting either the radiator hose or some of the wiring harnesses...
I use a toothbrush. It's smaller and gets in the throttle body easier.
I have a 2015 Kia Forte LX with 385,000 miles on it, and I´ve only cleaned the throttle 3 times now. I know! Shame on me!
Do you have to make the car relearn the throttle
I have a 2015 sonata an I’m having problems with my idle it’s to high an car runs rough barely wants to accelerate
Did you put a new gasket on after cleaning
Why didn't you take it out? did you just clean inside the car?
After cleaning need to reset anything?
Highly appreciate your time and effort to create such an informative and helpful content you are the best.
Thank you very much for your video, very easy to follow. Close views allowed me to understand in details the steps.
Very useful tip thanks
Thanks.
Great video! Can you tell why you clean that black circle on the back side?
Good Morning!
Do you have to replace the gasket? I saw a orange one on the engine.
What’s the socket size to unscrew the bolt?
Hi I saw your video, wondering if the issue is the same. As my RPM will dip to around 500rpm and engine vibration is quite significant when I switch my aircon speed to fan 2.
It is not easier to remove it completely and clean it?
