Because u cant use that on dyed suede. He knows the same thing. It would cause the shoes to lose color. Anyone who works on shoes would know that. Soooo…. Thats why they were cleaned the way they were 🤙🏽🤝🏽💯

Very difficult if not impossible to get it to lay down like it once did after it has had moisture damage i learned that the hard way years ago after ignorantly scrubbing away on pair 🤣 also if the color is faded usually helps to use a little suede friendly mink oil as well and try to only brush in one direction this will also help repell water. Erasers can be handy too just not a colored one

Hey man i have a few questions before restoring my sb la dodgers dunks. The suede got very hard because i am stupid and wore them in the rain (they got totally soaked). 1. Is there a alternative to the metal pusher thing? Dont have that in house. 2. Because of the rain some blue paint from the suede got on the white leather toebox and on the white tongue and socliner. You could try to use a tiny screw driver, maybe a butter knife. I’ve heard other people use that before. As far as the color transfer its due to the dye coming out which honestly wont be able to be taken out if it gets on something else.

Man I got some sb dunks in my freshman year of high school at a Nike employee store that I wore to the ground all the way to my senior year. They had suede on multiple parts of the shoe and got destroyed as I wore em on through every condition, rain, snow you name it. Part of the toebox started separating and my dad saw em and threw em out. I wish I still had them and I wish I took care of them when I had them, seeing how coveted dunks are right now compared to 2014.

I’m thinking about getting the Air Jordan’s Shadow 2.0, do these rules still apply⁉️ Also could I just use a dry brush for casual annual maintenance from time to time? Yes sir same rules apply. If you ever get rough or shaggy suede you can use a 2000 grit sand paper to level it down and get it even with the rest of the fibers.

Thats actually nubuck so you have to be very very gentle when cleaning it. The only thing I could suggest is by using a fabric shaver to try and get rid of the nappy look. You also cant clean just 1 area of nubuck you have to clean the whole entire piece that way once It dries you dont have water stains. Use a soft or medium bristle brush, clean it gently, let it completely dry, and then use that same soft or medium bristle brush to brush out the fibers of the nubuck so it can be soft again

Just use the method in the video and it should bring it back to life. The color always darkens when wet so its ok. Itll go back to looking white once the fibers are broke up to become soft again

Hitting it with mink oil is always a great thing to do after a cleaning, especially when its faded. Not only does it bring back the color but it makes it water resistant too

Any tips on make suede hairy? I have the plum restock and one of the toe guard suede is flatter one lateral side compared to the medial. I have a cuticle pusher and a brush but I can’t get to get it hairier. Suede got super buttery tho 😂

The one that I have has rounded edges on both sides of the tool so I usually use the pointed side to move the fibers around more easily. But there are some cuticle pushers that are sharp and don’t have rounded edges. I wouldn’t suggest using those

With those you can actually clean regularly with a soft or medium bristle brush and some good sneaker cleaner. But you would have to clean the whole entire shoe not just one spot. It will get wet of course and the nubuck will become hard after it dries. But once its completely dry you can take a dry bristle brush and scrub back and forth on the nubuck to make it soft and buttery again. You can also use a white rubber eraser to do the same thing. Hope this helps bro !!!

Water damage can be caused from using water on suede. Itll cause the suede to look spotty and have white rings around it once its dried. This is why you have to clean suede using the dry cleaning method like i did here or gently clean it with as little solution as possible

Theres not another product that I can think of or even suggest. If the stains are too hard to come out then unfortunately theres nothing else that can be done.

Jus looked at the Just suede spray, i took me to the site and i didn't see just the spray. Only saw kits, what/which did you buy? Also genuinely didn't know you could clean suede that good

They sold it separately before when i first bought it but i think only sell them in the kits now. I would get the kit the has the “just suede” and the “NuAntidote” that way you can have the opportunity to use both.
