Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Using pine pellets as cat litter is far more economical and environmentally-friendly than traditional clay litters. Here's how to clean out the actual cat boxes using them!

Pine Litter Sifter: So with the help of some other KZreadrs I found the perfect solution! You don’t need to get new litter boxes. This sifter fits on top of a 5 gallon bucket. The demo in the video starts at 5 minutes, 13 seconds. 1) Get the poop out 2) Dump one litter box into the other (so you have an empty box to put the sifted whole pellets into) / Or if you only have one litter box, have a second container you can put the sifted pellets in as you go 3) Dump a little at a time into the sifter/bucket straight from the litter box 4) Dump the whole pellets from the sifter into the empty litter box 5) When you’re finished, divvy the remaining whole pellets between the two boxes and add a little more to fill the bottom to about 1.5-2 inches 6) Either dump the bucket into the trash or outside or just put the lid on and keeping filling it until you need to dump it. Wash the bucket as needed. And the beauty of the sawdust is you can put the poop in there too and cover it with the sawdust as you’re sifting and between that and it having a lid, you won’t smell it 😁 Of all the ways I’ve seen people do it, this is the best (in my opinion), especially if you already have litter boxes. Most sifting litter boxes are designed for clay litter, not pine pellets. And any that ARE designed for pine pellets are like $50+. This sifter is only $15 on Amazon (get the 1/8” mesh) and it’s really good quality so it’ll last a long time. And a five gallon bucket with a lid is like $3. Figured, "let's see if anyone else found this annoying enough to post a video about it!" Ta da! So happy to have a demonstration of a method that works!

Thanks for showing me how to scoop cat poop. :D I tried pine pellets when I was a kid and definitely was doing i wrong! I just shook the normal pan so that the full pellets rose to the top and the pee sawdust was at the bottom. Didn't work well for odor, obviously. Even attracted MOLD if I waited 2 or 3 days to do it! That was gross. You just sold me on the sifter pan!

This stuff changed my life. I wish I had known about it years and years ago! If you are using tidy cats or some thing else you are wasting your money and I highly recommend you change to this!

Thanks for this! A quick demo that's straight forward and easy to understand 😸 I'm keeping my cat indoors since I moved to an apartment and I'm trying to find out the best litter to use. Been using clay which is okay but I might try wood

Thanks for the video. I have 16 cats at home and my son bought me 8 large bags of this Feline Pine. Now I know how to use it. Hopefully this will last me a long time.

Just found out about the pine pellets! 5 or $6 for a 40 lb bag! I got three cats I paid almost $12 for 40 lb which is not bad, but I need to start saving more money! They eat a lot and they poop a lot. Thanks for posting! This helps a lot!😸🐱😺!

Go to a "tackle store" or "feed supply". I can't smell urine in it. No nasty perfume either.

I’m assuming from the price you paid, you got equine pine pellets from Tractor Supply (or similar).

Thank you, first video where I’ve seen someone use a bag to sift. It’s relatively dust free, until you get a build up of saw dust. I usually have a thicker layer of pine, so it wasn’t uber convenient to use sifting trays for me.

Just don’t use it for anything edible (veggies, herbs). There’s still urine in the sawdust.

I have this one shopper bag and i scoop the litter and put the intact pellets into it. The dust is in the tray, i throw it away and put the wood pellets again with adding a few.

I have that same sifting pan cat litter box, mine came with 2 pans. I turned the sifter around the other way on top of the blue pan so it rests above it and is lifted up instead of nested in and the sawdust drops underneath and is caught by a liner I covered the pan so way less work!! We don't have a feed place here in the city, paid from amazon 20 lb bag of pine pellets for $20 free shipping.
