Toyota does not protect this area from rodent infestation because the drains for water going into this vent on each side are open and large enough for mice/rats. When they get in here, they have access to your AC blower (if you are lucky you have a filter before that but they can also eat their way through the filter)

Hi Peter, is there any way to clean the ac evaporator for the same car ( corolla e110 ) without removing the whole assembly? thank you.

Yes, add fresh coffee flour to floor. And keep flour there about 4 monhs.
