I was considering going back to doing automotive professionally, but now I'm remembering some of the vehicles I worked on. One was full of McDonald's wrappers over the seats, one car was used entirely as an ashtray, and one suv they were using to store used cat litter.

How effective is using dielectric grease as a corrosion inhibitor, as a percentage? Thank you.

@@jayasanka5978 Never use dielectric grease in anything automotive. could be very dangeroous (fact) and never ever use brake cleaner to clean anything electrical iam not sure where you get the idea that this will clean anything but brake rotors/pads but (never electrical period.)

Also helps to use a conductive grease to insure a better connection and to avoid any future oxidation.

I tried some other ways people say on YT and the ol baking soda , salt and vinegar solution didn't work on for RUST on my USB connector charging cable didn't work . What did work is toliet bowl cleaning liquid . If you read the label some of them says removes rust . I tried it once letting it sit for a minute . On the outside removed much of it . Had to use again letting it sit on INSIDE of USB connection for several minutes . Rinsed it off then dried sparingly with heat gun . Now works . USB cable is how my Craftsman rechargeable headlamp charges . verry handy

How tf did someone manage to spill Coca-Cola all over the engine bay and somehow end up all in the terminals? Gosh I can’t wait to see more of these types of shenanigans when I’m a full-time technician. The stories u must have lol 😂😂

I used to work in a shop and it was funny to see a technician pulling out his black gloves and his makeup set when doing something another technician will just come and spray a bunch of spray with a brush cleaning the connectors and just plugging them back up
