How to Clean and Maintain Your Expensive Clothes

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey everybody I wanted to make a video telling you all how I care and maintain my clothing. It is essential that you try to keep your clothes in the best condition possible when you are an enthusiast of designer brands and expensive clothing in general.

As a Vintage outdoor outer wear seller i've cleaned a lot of jackets...i kinda suggest to not use tooth brush...your method is correct but without tooth brush....my method is usually just dip the jackets into a bucket of warm/cold water with tiny amount of detergent for 15 to 30 mins and then for specific stain i use tip of my finger and rub the stain with a bit of detergent on my tip...take some times but effective to remove most kind of stains from used apparel with various fabrics...and the most important thing is...its safer for the fabrics...coz i learn the hard way using toothbrush. Great video man.

@lol more tip and warnings...i recently learned again(unfortunately the hard way) warm to hot water is bad idea on dominant white color with colored accent jackets... why? Warm to hot water tend to(not always) make the colored part bleed into the white part of the jacket...so normal to cold is more recommended for most...it took many times of washing to fix the bleed...so be aware...and enjoy your jacket brotha 👍

True!! The tooth brush rough-ins the texture or surface of the fabric..... but also!! A very affect tip is when you lay your t shirt out flat obviously your washing in a flat surface like the tub or a square bin or tote.... 1: fill with cold / warm water 2: make sure the shirt is fully submerged, BUT! only ABOUT 1" OR EVEN ¾ of the ways over the shirt 3: dissolve POWDERED SOAP IN A SMALL CUP , AND THROW IT IN [ MAKE SURE ITS FULLY DISSOLVE!!!] tide with oxygen but for colors is good 4: if you have the logo on the front of the shirt, tryna and lift it out if the water and keep the logo dry as possible 😉 5: [important step] when your water is fully mixed with the soap... then will you OPEN YOUR HANDS FACE DOWN AND PRETEND YOU WANT TO PUSH THE TOP WATER ,THREW THE SHIRT AND OUT THE BOTTOM 🤫😉 and your doing this for only 10 to 35 seconds depending on how you wore the shirt 5: yall already know , hanger goes under and up the shirt , BUT ! ....I usually just hang them with no hanger .... 6 : [important step] DRYING THEM IN THE RIGHT POSITION... smtimes just laying them flat or on a pole down the center isn't good! I believe , well what I do so the shirt doesn't dry in a weird way or stretches while it's hanging CUZ IT IS HEAVIER!... hang it on a bar but that runs horizontal and under the arm pits so if it does stretch a bit or dry kinda weird it's in the most discreet area of the shirt And that's how I wash my EXPENSIVE SHEEIT!!!😁

Also, instead of the toothbrush, I'd recommend using a brush from a sneaker cleaning kit, typically the bristles are much better and are able to cover a much larger area much faster.

Kind of bad advice about dry cleaning. Literally do not take all your nice stuff to the dry cleaner, as they’re very hard in clothes and their “pressing” consists of a gigantic panini press-like ironing machine that smashes the shirt flat. Spray your clothes with vodka or rubbing alcohol between wears to “refresh” them.

I used to think that dry cleaning was like giving 'the best care' for my more expensive pieces. Until one time I sent an expensive silk blouse in, and it came back with a hole (and in a position that couldn't be hidden). Definitely wasn't from me as I check all my pieces. Just ruined like that. From that day I researched dry cleaning and discovered it's not so gentle after all. ☹

It’s probably just cotton or cotton-poly blend. Throw it in the washing machine and don’t stress it. For “refreshing” it between washes, spray it down with vodka or rubbing alcohol like items Febreeze and let it dry. Doesn’t leave your clothes awkwardly perfumed and sticky like Febreeze.
