Us Greeks don't cut the as those stems have lots of nutrition. Just a good wash and scrub . Boil with salt until soften and the Color goesdark. We eat them with olive oil and lemon. The tea is great with lemon as well. Just a suggestion how we always eat them. Enjoy!

I just made a batch with roasted garlic/ginger oil, lots of lemon juice, dehydrated garlic, low sodium tamari soya sauce mixed together and topped with Kalamata olives, a little feta cheese and red pepper flakes. I saved the juice with added organic lemon juice to drink. Absolutely devastating!

You gotta know…. Love those greens! We juice them….along with organic carrots, zucchini, etc. Gotta get those minerals into the body…..in raw form. Excellent nutrition. We freeze the leftover juice of it all. We pick up dandelion greens at Whole Foods Market…..or Sprouts Market. Thks for your inspiration about cooking them! Love!!

I used to pick the wild Dandelions when they seeded and bring them home and blow the seeds in my yard so I could pick my own. Now I live in the Hi-Desert and I don't see them surviving the climate here. Now I have to buy at the store $1.99 a bunch, can you believe it :)

Yummy, you should try the way I like dandelion; take your washed greens and in a skillet with some olive oil, fry 3 or 4 very large, thinly sliced garlic cloves, on medium to low heat, when they are done, sprinkle with sea salt, and mix with thinly sliced boiled potatoes. Drizzle to taste with apple cider vinegar. Serve hot, or cold. That's my favourite potato salad.

Thanks for the tips, the grocery store didn't know if you could cook them, he said only for salads. But it's late in the season (august) and the greens are a bit strong tasting to do salad. So now I will try your recipe I liked how you also told us to keep the water, very nutritious and could store in ice cube trays for later, ingenus.

ok, im not picking on you , i am giving you huge credit,im sure you collect your own too. these so-called weeds are a miracle of hidden knowledge . i have found about 50 i feel comfortable eating but the dandelion is consistently the one that is always there where you are its seems to be there. and the plantain, which is great broad leaf or narrow, but they dont taste too great. Soo THANKYOU FOR THAT, i can id these plants but i am a lousey cook. i make pesto out of them and many of the other greens, mix in salads with the yummier ones like miners lettuce, chickweed and purslane. then dump some oil and vinegar on them to mask the bitter, or just force it down, sometimes i mix with eggs, or the nastier things make tea. the bottom line is eat these things and they will make you healthy. my hero is li ching yeong that is what he did, he lived 256 yrs and was beloved by everyone. he applied this . i hope people realize the wild natural plants are the secret to good health, no need to plant ,water ,buy seeds and its all free. i even eat dirt, clay, charcoal ,sand, ashes, diatomaceous earth, zeolite(silicas) and the pollens ,pine is my favorite.i believe it fixes the progesterone overload causing much breast cancer and prostate. Good luck and hopefully people will read this. shawn

Hello Maria, I am not the video uploader but i can tell you what was said if you are still interested. She took the leafy green parts of dandelion (stem and leaf) washed them thoroughly, then gently boiled in salt water until the greens were limp and flexible but not mushy. She then strained and poured a generous helping of olive oil and squeezed half a fresh lemon over the greens. She bought hers from a store but lots of people enjoy dandelion because they can forage it in the wild (or even most backyards) If you pick your own just make sure you have the correct identification, and that the area has not been sprayed with pesticides. All parts of the plant may be eaten from the roots to the flower, and contain numerous health benefits, but it can be a bit bitter, that is why people boil in salt or add other flavors such as lemon, garlic, pepper, oils, or whatever you think would be enjoyable. Hope that helps :)

Darker green is not a “horridly dark color”… collards, kale and other types of greens turn darker… it’s just fine if that’s what you want to do.
