Usually these kind of cleanings in my experience only last for a day or two. Once the shining agents in the spray wear off usually you'll see that there is still a layer of dirt on most of the components. I think using a brush to agitate the dirt off of the surface while using a cleaner works best.

OK, FINALLY got around to this project this afternoon - used the Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Foam - and MAN, did it ever work really well! My engine looks almost new. Had to get inventive with the powered-air step - got my very powerful backpack blower and used a stepladder to get just above the engine - worked awesome! GREAT, tip. This product and the next best one is way too expensive to order here in Northern Ireland. I know this may not be as good but would it do? Gunk Engine Degreaser spray foam. It's an old diesel, 26 years old although I guess that's not important. Should I cover the alternator? Thanks guys.

It was great to clean around the under hood sound deadening material under the hood. I’d never been able to clean that. Would I be able to use method this on a Prius engine? Thanks. Foaming cleaners always seem to penetrate better than average liquid all purpose cleaners.i use aerosol foamy upholstery cleaner and a detail brush on Chrysler product interior plastic trim vs the all purpose and a detail brush due to the deep texture in Chrysler plastic trim.that penetrating action looks like it works great on the engine compartment.I’ll definetly give that a whirl. I use oven cleaner from dollor store works good and also get some purple power that's all what I use a pressure washer or just using regular water hose too but I always cover up the alternator to keep it from getting wet from water or anything and if the vehicle has a computer underneath the hood that's visible that could get soaked also cover that up as well . And then use compressed air after all of that and its clean . but I will never ever use shine stuff on my engine or anybody else's all that does is make a mess and make it worse and collect dust and dirt everywhere

Big Mike thank you for this ,. After being on KZread as long as we have and understanding the niche that we are in there are many many other car channels that are not doing very well we usually get pretty much the same amount of thumbs down on most of our videos this comes from those out there trying to get a leg up on KZread with their channels doing car repair and the like. There’s nothing we can do about that it’s much like the Internet most of the reviews done on companies are not real especially if they’re bad reviews companies pay people to go out and give bad reviews to their competition. I wish this did not happen but it is the way it is. Also I’m going to send you a comment that I just received and the link to the video you can read the comment and my reply back to them, it proves that most people do not watch the entire video and listen to what is being said and done, then they take bits and pieces of it they may watch one minute of a five-minute video and then say that it is bad or incomplete and then give it a thumbs down where if they were to watch the entire video they would understand how things are being done. Knowledge is power and Many are lacking in their attention span.

I've heard that the "Thumbs Down" that you see on many of the videos are directly related to the number of "bots" that visit these pages. "Bots" being short for "Robots" or software that is part of the search engines that constantly search the internet to keep their cached file / website address locations up to date. So in case you didn't know, there are many search engines which are part of the internet - not just Google. I just thought I would mention this here.
