Pan, I'm a newbie who came across your channel & love it because you are, simply relatable. Concerning leather, namely this video but for leather seats too, how can you "seal" leather when it's plastic coated? If you can explain or provide a link that would help.

After reading my viewers' questions, I decided to ask their questions to Colourlock experts and received the following answers: 1) Is there a wait time after using the leather cleaner before applying leather shield? No. There is no waiting time. Just ensure the surface is dry and all cleaner residue is removed/wiped before applying Shield. 2) How often do we need to reapply Leather Shield? Leather Shield is a sealant. A non permanent sealant that needs to be refreshed once every 3-6 months depending on use. It provides protection from abrasion damage and dye transfer on new leather. 3) Are the products in this video suitable for fake/synthetic leather? Yes, the product is suitable for genuine leather (non absorbent only) & all types of artificial leather/leatherette.

Yeah you need to deep clean that oil and dirt and germs.

@@abdullahthabet6943 You do exactly as in this video. You can't protect the leather from grease/oils. They accumulate over time because you constantly touch the steering wheel. That's why you have to clean it at least once every 2-3 months.

Just recived and applied the xpress interior cleaner at my steering wheel and it's great. Love that mate finish. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the video! I do take good care of my steering wheel and I was able to use the products in this video recently. One observation I want to make is to avoid working on direct sunlight and extreme hot weather when applying leather shield, it dries out and leaves streaks. I was able to use a light damp microfiber to remove the streaks and bring the matte finish.

Have using Colourlock system for about 2 years and love it. A tips is that if you using Shield on the leather and you are waiting for it to dry, use a blowdryer :)

Pan, I just purchased a 2016 BMW 535i MSport. The interior and leather surfaces are immaculate but just want to clean it all up. The p&s interior cleaner and the detail factory brushes will do the job. I was thinking about getting the WOWO interior finisher over the p&s cleaner. Do you recommend that? Awesome videos man. I have been here since the beginning and love all the information you put out on your channel.

Hey Pan great vid. How do I replace the clear coat (Mitsubishi L200). It has rubbed off in places due to some wear and tear. Mostly abrasive sand from a camping trip.

Hi from the UK. I am a bit of a cynic watching some of the Pan’s and others cleaning wheels.......however.......I bought the kit and looked at the year old shiny F90 M5 steering wheel on my car and gave it a go.....😳 WOW........ I now have a factory Matt steering wheel again, gone is the shiny cheap look these wheels often have. Thanks Pan, great video and the product works which is even better!

Great video Pan! I do wonder, since not all leathers are the same (some cars have artificial, some PU, some Suede etc.), how do I get to know what type of leather my vehicle has? I see on the website of Colourlock that the Strong Leather Cleaner can not be used on every type of leather. Thanks in advance!

Hi loved the video. I have a 2022 Mazda 6 Turbo sedan (Australia) The grey leather steering wheel has been slippery and shiny since i picked up the car brand new. Do they apply a protective coating at the factory prior to shipping from Hiroshima Japan to Australia? If so how can I make the wheel soft and grippy? As the slippery wheel for me is annoying. Good video for me. I usually spray griots 3 in 1 leather conditioner and cleaner on a microfiber and massage it in my steering wheel. Same process for my leather seats. I'm assuming this steering wheel cleaning process will be the same for seats? Also I have a spot that is starting to feel coarse on the top of my steering wheel hopefully cleaning will not make it worse.

Hey Pan, Have an M-Steering wheel. Was super greasy from the dealer (bought it used). After cleaning it a few times with Chemicals Leather Cleaner + Leather Conditioner, after a while, I think the CG Cleaner is now removing the dye...Is that possible? Any suggestions on how to clean it in the future without making it worse?

Hey Pan, I'm hoping you can answer a few questions for me. For a care that's hasn't been detailed for example decontamination, polish, sealant, etc how often would you do a full detail like that? I think you said twice a year correct me if I'm wrong. And what do you consider to be a maintenance wash and what does it consist of. After a simple wash my car catches some dust/pollen would I do a simple quick detailer? I live in Nevada were pollen is not so nice to our clean cars

I still can’t get my head around ceramic coating for leather. I just picture it giving a hard glass coat but I’m sure it doesn’t. I use the Angelwax Heaven for Leather and Hide-rate. Easy to apply and great clean. Happy new year Pan. 👍

Durability on those is amazing. Up to a year of leather protection.

Pan TheOrganizer I am about six hours away in The U.S. About an hour from NYC! I’ve been to Montreal once for F1 2006. I was glad to see Michael Schumacher in His final year with Ferrari. I saw Him in Indy two years earlier. My Dad gets His car back tomorrow. Had a little booboo with the front fender. I’m sure the body shop put tons of swirls in... I will likely tackle that tomorrow! As a result last year we promoted 303 Graphene spray (you premiered it with an interview of the 303 chemist) on our RV network. We used it on our Airtstream trailer - as well on my RS5, Q8 and Lexus. Great video as always. We mustn’t forget to clean the back of the steering wheel as well. You’re one of the very few detailers that places a towel behind the wheel and also stresses ph neutral cleaner. Most apcs are caustic to leather. Particularly older leather. It strips the natural oils from the leather.

Thanks for showing us how to do it right! There are several other videos suggesting the use of a magic eraser, which is only going to damage the leather. These is no substitution for having the proper 'tools', in this case, a cleaner designed for steering wheels

Thanks Dayne! Magic erasers can be used in extreme conditions, when no other solution works, but you need to be very careful and test on an inconspicuous area first. But in general, I always recommend starting with the most gentle methods first, and use material appropriate products, like leather cleaners and sealants on leather surfaces. :)

Hi Pan. Quick question for you. I have white pin head sized spots and specs on my Audi S4 steering wheel that I bought used. I've been detailing the car and a standard clean doesn't remove them. I tried a spot clean and some pressure with a microfiber can remove them but it is abrasive and leaving a mark. Any tips to remove them? Have you seen before. I figure it is a grease spot that has acted with UV to mark the clear or something?

I had this on my old ford that had white stitching on all the seats but black on the wheel & drivers seat. It all came out white after to. Shocking but it was the first clean after I bought it

Hi Pan, the P&S cleaner is great! Have you ever tried products from Dr. Leather? They only specialize in leather treatments. The cleaner is great, been using the Dr Leather cleaner on my bmw leather seats last two years as the single product. Now I got the Dr Leather Dye Block - that I'm going to try on my blond leather seats(new volvo) . Would be great to see a review from you on Dr. Leather products.

Great video! I always assumed that shiny glossy look to my steering wheel was natural. I have a 7-year-old VW GTI and the steering wheel has a very shiny appearance to it. Do you think I can use the leather cleaner by Meguiar's to achieve this? I also ordered the leather brush you suggested. I'm really tempted to clean my steering wheel and achieve that matte look once again!

Could you tell us what product to use to maintain daily sanitizing on the wheel?

I have BMW X5 G05 - 1 year old and I've always used Gyeon Products - great combo on leather seats and very gentle but I was never able to get a good matte result on the steering wheel. After watching this video I purchased same product, arrived yesterday and steering wheel is as new, very matte and fresh finish. Great Product

Pan TheOrganizer I am subscribed since your wheel cleaning video of the 4 series 3yrs ago. I had one myself! Also I am subscribed to Obsessed Garage since before it was “Obsessed” where both channels offer unique content which suits my approach and cleaning techniques

I think one of the things I like best about your videos, Pan, is that no matter what type of vehicle you’re detailing, I can apply that knowledge and any procedures to my own vehicles. Likewise with your garage set up; even though I have a smaller garage, it is very-well organized for detailing. Thanks so much!

Great video as always Pan. I thought it ever very interesting about the PH Levels for the leather and product. Deeper explanation of PH levels would make for a great future video, just a suggestion : )

Love the instructions!! You rock! How do you recommend cleaning the leather brush? I have dark leather on the Mustang and light leather on the Escape. I don’t want color transfer. Every time I watch your video, Amazon delivers another box two days later!! Amazing coincidence.

I used the p&s on a 5 month old BMW it's crazy how dirty it can get! I only don't know which protectant I should use for it I used carpro perl on all the interior but in my opinion it's to slick for the steering wheel. so I think I'll get the colourlock set! Thanks Pan for your amazing videos I learn a lot from it to keep my car and from others in good condition!

we are currently experiencing ash fall here in the philippines because of the eruption of taal volcano... can you give tips on how to clean volcanic ashfall on cars?

Hey Pan, Great video keep the interior videos coming. I wanted to know what protectant and UVA & UVB/conditioner after cleaning the leather but particularly the dashboard. I have a 2020 Golf R, what do you apply to your BMW dashboard after cleaning with P&S interior cleaner? Thanks

CarPro PERL diluted 5:1 for interior plastics

Hey guys I cleaned my steering wheel when applying the sealant my sponge had some black dye on it is that normal or is it taking the colour of my steering wheel? Thanks

Hi Pan, I was cleaning the drivers leather seat with diluted APC 1:10. Some black came on the microfibre cloth after I wiped it down, At first I thought it was dirt so I redid it again but the cloth was darker than before. I repeated the process over and over again thinking how dirty the previous owner could possibly , but the amount of 'dirt' was not reducing in any way. Then I realised it must be the leather dye coming off! How is that possible? The car is 2017 bmw with just 50,000km! Did you ever encounter something similar, and what is the best way forward?

Nice video!! Earned a new sub too. Question. Could this method be used on the leather dashboard? I also have same/similar interior since it’s a BMW as well (2019). Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Since you subscribed to my channel, let me officially welcome you to the Pan TheOrganizer family! You don’t have to clean the dashboard as you don’t normally touch that surface. A quick wipe with a damp microfiber towel will do to remove dust. Then you can apply the leather shield. How did you discover my channel?

Hi Pan, always good job! Thanks! I have the same colourlock kit and used it on BMW and Mercedes, top results. Had once on a Mazda MX5, the steering wheel started pealing afterwards, any clue why? Is that steering not leather?

The Colourlock kit would even work on synthetic leather so that wasn’t the issue. Who knows what happened. Bad sun exposure? Failure of the leather’s clear coat?

Again a great video Pandelis and it is really helpful....only a question how much product from colourlock you need for all the interior of the car? I would like to do the interior of a friends car.

One kit is more than enough.

Do these products work on an already faded steering wheel or should I buy some other product to help restore the leather look?

Thanks so much for sharing. You are literally the best. So what you used is nowhere near like leather cleaners you find at stores -correct? Cause it seems like store brands just make the leather more shiny, that's why I never used them in the past. I'm glad to see there are products that actually work as they should cause I just got a new 23 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Off-Road and thanks to you will be able to keep the steering wheel looking new! Thanks again!

Correct. These are professional grade leather cleaners and protectants. A clean leather is a matte leather. There isn't supposed to be a glossy or oily looking surface. @@PanTheOrganizer I found your channel around a year and half ago. I'm pretty sure at the time I was trying to find out what products to use to clay bar a vehicle, either that or what polishes to get and how to do it. I did end up trying to clay bar my Camaro, but the paint on them sucks so it ended up scratching the crap out of it. Luckily I just did one panel.

Your girlfriend’s CX-5 needs to have its headlamps restored..!

That would be a great little video to create. Maybe one headlight with one series of products and the other with another series of products. AND you can do it inside the garage where it’s toasty warm away from the winter cold outside. 😂😂😂😎
