    Good video but I believe one point on ‘long blade’ was not covered. SH with LB bats for 6ft+ is an option these days esp with Kookaburras

    Whats your view on GM zeos II original cricket bat ? ALso is there a big difference between grade 1 and grade 1+ (original vs LE)..Also the GM zeos II original bat that I am thinking of buying is about 2.6. It picks up amazingly well but I worried because it is so light it will not travel much

  • @SeriousCricketTV

    @SeriousCricketTV

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ramesh, please take a look at our review of the Zelos bat here - ecs.page.link/GVBbk In theory, Original LE is the top grade willow available so performance should be greater... however, grading bats is a subjective process so the original may be just as good (if not better) than the Original LE. Ignore the weight... focus on how the bat feels in your hands (that is the most important).

    Im 17 , is it wise of me to use a harrow match since i have been playing mens cricket for about 3 seasons now. I've been using borrowed SH bats since everyone around me has telling me i have to use SH bats despite me being 5'5 so i had to change from my GM neon harrow . But now I have decided i'm gonna use my GM since it feels much nicer and lighter. I even compared the width of the faces and they all seem to be the same ±1 cm. So in your opinion should i just use the GM harrow ? because my main concern is that it will crack . also i took of the scuff sheet 😬 which it makes it even more prone to cracking

    Go with what you feel most comfortable with. If you are using a Short Handle, make sure it is something that is a suitable weight and with a pick up that suits you.

    Hello I am 13 and am thinking about progressing to a harrow (I am 5’5) but I can’t hold it up when I tried the weight test (My six is a bit too small). Is the harrow the right size or should I stick to the 6?

  • @SeriousCricketTV

    @SeriousCricketTV

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Max, if you can't hold it up comfortably when using the weight test then we would recommend you stick with a size 6. It is better to have a slightly smaller bat that you can manoeuver rather than a bat that is too heavy/big.

    Thanks for the great videos that you are putting together, they are full of information and really help to buy cricket gear. I have one question about a cricket bat size, I am a short adult with 5 feet 4-inch height and age 38+, should I use a short handle or should I go with a small men's size or a smaller blade 540mm? I always use short handles but I feel I don't have a good bat speed and straight drives are not great either. When I use my son's Harrow bat then I feel the bat speed and feel drives are much better. Would you recommend me to use small mens bat? I found Kookaburra small mens which is way cheaper than the short handle but it says junior cleft, is junior cleft okay for Adult cricket?

    You would be looking at moving into a short handle however if you are struggling with the transition to a bigger bat, you may want to consider an 'academy' size which bridges the gap between junior and adult cricket bats.

  • @SeriousCricketTV

    @SeriousCricketTV

    2 жыл бұрын

    You should still be fine with a short handle, but maybe look for something around 2lb 7oz - 2lb 8oz. Make sure you choose a bat that feels comfortable in your hands. A good tip is to hold the bat out straight with your top hand (left hand if you're a right-handed batsman or your right hand if you're a left-handed batsman). You should be able to hold and control the bat when holding it out straight - if you're starting to shake or find it too heavy, you should consider something lighter.

    How do you know if a bat is ‘too light’ for you?

  • @SeriousCricketTV

    @SeriousCricketTV

    2 жыл бұрын

    First thing is to make sure you have the right size cricket bat. If you're in an adult bat, it will all be down to how the bat feels in the hands, it is a very personal choice. Rather than thinking 'is the bat too light or too heavy' concentrate on how the bat picks up, does it feel comfortable? If so and you're scoring runs, stick with it 👍
