I m a new to tarot world. I have started learning tarot, couple of days ago. N wen I was searching for a deck, my heart just got connected with the light seer tarot deck, I found it so mesmerizing and so mee. My heart n mind just got so fascinated with it. I m not able to get it out of my mind. I m going to order it. I went on searching so many decks, but that deck fascinated me, n I guess it choosed me. By seeing the light seer tarot deck, I felt so myself and connected, as it is supposed to be meant only for me. I m in love with the light seer tarot deck ❤❤

I visited a metaphysical store while out of town and I kept finding myself intensely drawn to Deviant Moon. I loved how dark it was and I wanted a deck for shadow work. I bought it and it was just kind of odd at first. It took me a little while to get used to the really freaky art style. It has become my current go to deck for both myself and others. I just adore it so much and I find its focus on the shadow side of the cards to fit my style of reading incredibly well.

@@DailyTarotGirl Hi I am a beginner I mean i never knew about tarot 🤷‍♀️ I never knew much about them.. while recently a death of a favourite Indian Bollywood actor called Sushant Singh Rajpoot made me to not only believe in Tarot but learn Tarot !! Very strange and interestingly I went to a shop where I was instantly pulled towards the card shelf the seller asked me "what do you want mam ?" I replied "Oracle Cards plz " I literally don't know how on Earth did I came to know the word "Oracle" 😳 trust me I didn't know that Oracle was a part of tarot and that it was guided by angels or something I really never ever knew !! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I don't know why I thought and said the word Oracle and after standing at the cards shelf for about an hour I selected the Kyle Gret oracle deck it really really pulled me ! Actually the truth (only if you believe) is that this deck WASN'T ACTUALLY THERE IT JUST APPEARED SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OTHE DECKS !! 😳😳😳😳😳😳 Well whatever be the truth my imagination or hallucination but i felt drawn and I bought and i really like it 🙏😇🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️ I thought to share my story Thankyou for reading ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a period where I bought a lot of decks. Then I went through a Marsaille snobbery phase. Now I'm just sticking with the RWS mostly, and Deviant Moon. Love Deviant Moon.

Thank you so much.. this has been such an interesting and helpful topic. I started with the original Rider Waite.. just went nowhere. I ended up with another more pagan deck that was based on the Rider Waite.. and it felt great. But... I also have the Llewllyn Classic Tarot. and am finding all of a sudden I want to use it. Im so so glad I stayed with a traditional deck. And even more so now after watching your video. 😁❤. Thank you so so much.

That Universal Waite deck is great. If you want something even simpler, I often recommend Morgan Greer, which is cheesier and cheerier with 70s style and 70s mustache dudes. But it focuses on the main characters so it's easier to read.

@@kristymounsey3450 I know a reader who uses Morgan Greer as her main daily deck, combined with zodiac meanings. I still prefer all the detail in Universal Waite, but Morgan Greer is an interesting and useful close-up that focuses on the most important representational elements.

The artwork & the feelings they evoke is what is drawing me to certain decks. How do i choose a oracle decks that would compliment my tarot deck?

Today is 11/16/22, but this should still work. The Gummy Bear Tarot, by us games system inc.,The Spiritsong Tarot, by Pauline Cassidy. The spiritsong deck does use different ideas for suits but the book tells you what the suits are in regular tarot (think about the Halloween Tarot,bats are swords,cups are ghosts,wands are imps, pumpkins are pentacles) this last deck is pretty fun too!!! So they are based on Rider Waite Smith,YaY!!!!!🎨🎉😉🥰👍⭐ Enjoy your journey!!!

I just ordered the Sola Busca deck -- not to read with but to add to my collection. I like old things -- old buildings, old furniture, and old Tarot decks.

I love the "Universal Waite" deck! That and the original R-W-S are the only ones I have!

I started with tarot this last year and i have the rider one and the shadowscapes and i love both soooo much... i am looking for a third deck at the moment and i might going to buy the thelema tarot, but i am not 100% sure to buy it... before discover the thelema tarot i wanted to buy the illuminati so i know i want that kind of tarot deck style but it is quite difficult, and i want to be sure because in my country tarot decks are sooo expensive... so, this video help me enough. thank you! i love your channel! i think this is the first time i write you a comment but i always click on your videos fast because i really like your energy ♥

As a graphic designer and creative overall I look for that cute pleasing esthetic of me getting inspired to draw or like the style in which it's made. I like to shuffle and see the artwork and just look at how pretty they are

I agree with you. I still haven't bought my first tarot deck yet. And I've always wanted to buy the Dark Mansion tarot and I thought of RWS as ugly. But the more I read about tarot the more the RWS really starts to make sense. So now I'm thinking of buying the borderless RWS deck first.

I've got seven decks, and looking at buying three more before the end of the year, two of which work in tandem with each other, to show the light and shadow of the question.

I began with the Rider Waite and I also didn't like it......same reason as you.........then I found the Modern Spellcasters Tarot based on RW The illustrations got me at first sight ......but gues, I also had the same problem as you with it hahaha.......so now I start over again and will begin with the basic of the RW. to make Tarot my own so I can work on a later moment with the Spellcasters as well. And next week I get my new Oracle deck Lenormand expanded deck.........I love cards with great illustrations.

The Marseille and French system speaks to me. My ancestry were from France and I think I resonate with that style because of that. It's an important deck as it far predates the RWS and there is a fair amount of similarity, especially with the Majors. But even the minors and numerology resonates with some of the RWS meanings. They are different systems fir sure, but it's not a bad idea to know Tarot historically, to know the foundations of any system. And then there's the Thoth which is the other main tarot system which many swear by worldwide. I like all three systems but Marseille is my favorite. It's all such fun!

I have eight decks now and I am feeling called to Rider Waite Smith for the first time.

Great video Kate! I had to laugh I have been using Anna K for the longest time, then I had an urge to buy the Golden Universal Tarot and the Radiant Rider Waite Decks. And by chance a few months back I came across postcards from Spirit. Great ideas for choosing a deck. For me, I am a spur of the moment buying decks that I get excited about. For me another great method your readers may be interested in is buying apps, the dogs fool offers at least 20 decks for under 6 dollars, and it’s a great way to see the cards. I personally like apps, more for recoding my readings, but also to get a feel for the cards. Have a great day, James

That's great, James! I've never tried an app because of my extreme aversion to cell phones and stuff but I can see how it would be a great way to test drive a deck before you bought it.

My first tarot deck was the Good Tarot by Colette Baron Reid, but I had a lot of issues with it cause I didnt know much about Tarot at all and i still kinda dont.. so then I purchased the Radiant Rider waite tarot deck and now i think im starting to understand some of the cards but not all..

My oldest tarot pack is tarot Marseilles and got this in 1974 or so. But have recently got rider Waite radiant and originals. But prefer my Marseilles pack as its simpler and not so arty. Everyone recomend rider Waite. But don't k ow why just commercialism I guess. I paid £2.00 for Marseilles back then it was the only type there were so guess I am used to the. Now. But like rider Waite too but not so much I have 5 packs or tarot cards. Used for myself off and on since 1974. But am no expert at it but want to learn more with them now in the craft.

Hello, I am new to tarot. I have a question. When you are conducting a tarot reading for someone, do you read the cards from the other person's perspective or your perspective? I am not reading reversals yet, so would I lay the cards so they are right side up to me or would you lay the cards down, so they are right side up to the person your reading for?

Hi! You would read the cards from your perspective :) So they will appear right side up to you (unless you get a reversed card).

Great info, thank you! I agree with finding decks through Facebook groups & KZread. I look at the imagery of a deck. I am sensitive & dislike really dark imagery (but don't shy away from the shadow stuff in life), so overall if I like the art.

Duc de Richleau Oh that's too bad, I hope you find your RW deck soon! Yes that's a great point. Dark tones can really change a whole reading, just by their dreary presence. I do prefer happier decks, especially being brand new to tarot, yet I understand there are deeper/hard times in life. So those have to be reflected in cards as well. I just can't do all evil or dark type decks. Thank you for the story & response!

Kristin Holt, are you familiar with the White Sage deck? I haven't seen it in person, but have seen it online. It seems very calm and gentle. It's rendered in pastel colors and there are no disturbing images.

Wrong wrong wrong. I dont care what anyone says. The best way to find YOUR tarot deck. One simple thing. Let it call to you. When you see a deck of tarot and you cant stop the feeling. Hold it. Feel it. You'll know. It's like in Soviet Russia you dont choose Soviet Russia. Soviet russia chooses you.
