I am a 50+ woman who used to love playing with makeup in my 20’s, but frankly had stopped wearing much besides concealer when not getting ready for something special. @@firstsecond98 It's not about cosmetics. It's about little things that give your confidence a boost. It can be anything like looking good with a lipstick on or learning a new skill. Things that make you feel good increase your confidence a lot.

When I was 22 I got a red lipstick as a gift from an older friend. She observed that I only used nude or beige lipstick. Since that first red (a very bright pure red), this color never left my vanity. I use red almost everyday for work. Pure red is my vibe, but I truly can pull off any red because I feel confident with bright lips.

What's the name of it?

I’m over 50 now. The Chanel reds that I have & stopped wearing, I now wear by first applying a lip balm, let it absorb & then blot any excess off. I then apply the red from the bullet or with a brush. It’s a bit more sheer & easier to wear. Thanks Andrea, because it’s you that made me revisit my reds!!

I’ve been wearing red lipstick ever since I was 16 and I will always wear it!! Always chic. I love it and wish more women would feel more comfortable wearing it too!

I've started to wear red lipstick probably 11-12 years ago when I was just a teenager. Deeply inspired by Dita von Teese look I decided to try it on myself. Now it's my signature look and I absolutely adore red lipsticks. They're a majority in my makeup collection and I use to wear red lips every day. I think it's sooo chic and gives me +100 points to self confidence.

Thank you so much for this! I have pale olive (i.e. neutral leaning slightly warm) and have been very confused about why I prefer different tones of red at different times of year. Summer or warmer months, I love warm reds-orangey reds; but when the weather cools (and my skin lightens, maybe?) they don't work so well anymore, and I lean to more neutral or vampy or at the warmest - brick tones. This was super-helpful!

So many beautiful colors! My favorite is one you’ve not mentioned, it’s a discontinued Chanel liquid lipstick called Dragon. They still make the nail polish for it I believe but that color is so deep and beautiful. I wish they never stopped making it.

Love this! Really gorgeous reds in there. The lip products I'm finding less and less of are lip stains. I used to have a red stain that I could apply lightly and have it look and feel like my own lips. So miss that.

Thank you Andreea for a very informative video. Frankly I found you like less than 10 days ago. Watched as many videos as possible. As a result I bought the 1) Laura Mercier translucent loose powder 2) Laura Mercier lip liner in grapefruit 3) Too Faced better than sex mascara 4) MAC setting spray All arrived this morning so I tried them out. Wow I’m really impressed that my foundation was not cakey and my makeup stayed on easily the 8 hours I was out. Yesterday I was only out for dinner for 3 hours and my foundation was already cakey. So thank you so much for all the very good recommendations.

Since a very long time, i like rouge lipstick. Cool reds, but not dark. Now i have so many different colors of reds. As pencil, i still love my nars « dragon girl ».
