I have a gorgeous iridescent green on blue female Crowntail and a stunning red, black and white over blue Tangerine Koi male... The blue genes would mix well and the tails would be a beautiful mix...but she's pretty big...we'll see. Not ready to devote the time just yet.

Those are beautiful bettas! Yes, it needs time. For the first 2 weeks, it will be easy But when they get bigger, specially when they need to be separated, thats the most time consuming But, it brings joy 😊👍

In my experience, larger female will not work. Try feeding more to the male, maybe he will grow bigger

Make the water move: Betta fish like still water, but a little bit of wavy water helps. Make the water at the top of the tank move a little by using a special pump or an air stone. Clean the tank: Regularly change some of the water in the tank. This helps remove the film and keeps the water clean. Skim the water: Sometimes, a thin layer forms on the water's surface. You can use a special tool or a small net to gently take it away.

@@6maquariumfish Thank you! I'll try this. I hope this works. I bought the male from a breeder. He is 6 months old. I think he can grow some more. Male is Galaxy plakat. Female is dumbo koi plakat. The age of the female is not known since I bought her at the market. I hope over time I will be able to get at least a few fry if possible. I know the dumbo gene is recessive but the goal now is just a few good koi betta to work with in future.

Hey sir I have a few questions for betta breeding 1.that can I pair a half moon betta fish with black betta fish 2. I have tried the breeding process even my male makes a big bubble nest but the female is not him giving to lay her eggs I have tired this two times 3. Does breeding process needs a big tank or small This is all my question i hope you will reply it. 😊

Yes, you can breed any male and female betta. But if they are not of the same tail type, the fry will have indefinite tails as well. Their colors will be mixed too. Check carefully, maybe thr female is too big for the male. You can get a new female that is much smaller

Splendens and crowntails would mix ok. Male crowntails have flowy fins like Splendens do.
