Seeing your video create a miniature route out of the deep water I found myself. I wondered what I would have done with the volume of literature before me, reading without clear objectives. I felt something was missing when I read because there were no clear objectives or a guide. This video showed that the theoretical framework is a guide that helps to conduct a sound literature review. Thank you so much, Guy!

This was great! I appreciate the tip about using your literature to find theoretical framework. In writing my lit review I totally skimmed over anything pertaining to a theoretical framework and now that you've suggested to find the theory in our literature I totally realized that the theories were there all along!! Thank you!

Once again, Dr. Guy, you have given me hope. I first found your videos when I was at the five year mark of my thesis and shortly after I bought "The Dissertation Warrior" book, which was invaluable. However, there was just too much disaster happening within my thesis (and my life - those two things may have been related!) and I withdrew from my PhD. I have had just over a year off, and have recently reopened the dissertation door - determined to finish! Your words make so much sense. Having just watched this video, I finally understand what a theoretical framework actually is - how has this taken me so long?!! Anyway, I get the feeling you will be a significant part of my efforts to finish this thing - which I aim to do by the end of this year. Thank you for providing such awesome information.

Stacey Xaelani I recommend narrowing from (1) motivation level and (2) self-concept down to a single aspect of these undergraduates. For example, you could choose self-concept... and then do lots of digging in the literature to see what you really mean by self concept. Is there a specific PART of self concept about which you are interested?
