Thanks for this Dr. Adu, this is truly a fantastic presentation with some great links to help the audience both understand but also do further research on this. I found this extremely helpful in trying to develop a conceptual framework for my PhD as I was already in a fairly late stage.

I just have one question... with regards your opinion on the difference between conceptual and theoretical framework, do you have a source for your perspective? What about if you have 2 main theories and 5 main concepts... isn't that a conceptual framework?

Thank you for your explanation sir, however, Kivunja clearly stated that conceptual framework and theoretical framework are different in both content and role. Dr Charles Kivunja in his publication titled, “distinguishing between theory, theoretical framework and conceptual framework: a systematic review of lesson from the field” clearly stressed that conceptual framework should not be included in a thesis because it is too complex and its sub-components already constitute other sub-sections of the thesis. He further stressed that a conceptual framework is simply a blueprint showcasing how the student intent to carry out the study. This view is also backed by Adam et al. (2018), Ravitch and Riggan (2017), and Crawford (2020). Although, Ravitch et al (2017) and Crawford (2020) stated that both should be included in a study they clearly stated that they are different in both role and content (likewise Dr Charles Kivunja).
