OK, I have a HP Pavilion laptop. It has an older USB A on the left that is used for a wirles mouse, and 2 USB A (SS) ports on the right. that I use for various different devices. However, I often have connectivity troubles with one of the (SS) ports. For example I can't get mobile internet on that port but I can get it on the other port using the same cable to the mobile. This is what I am seeing in the Device Manager: Inter (R) USB 3.0 eXtendable Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) USB Composite Device USB Composite Device USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) What does this mean in terms of the number of functional USB SS ports? Does it mean that it is not recognising both SS ports? What is my best course in rectifying the problem SS port?

Hi guys, I just recently purchased the Satechi hub (latest version) for my Mac mini M2. 4 front ports (USB 2 x 5Gbps / USB 1 x 10Gbps / USC-C x 1 10Gbps) but I'm finding these ports to be extremely slow and little if any difference between any of the ports in Blackmagic speed tests, file transfers, iPhone syncing. etc I wondering if I got a dud one. The iPhone sync took over 20mins when it's usually 2-3mins at most. Is there a way to test this out ?

Even though the Hub Ports support these read/write speeds remember that the internal usb ports most likely have a max speed that is much slower than the hub ports. So essentially it’s capping the speed. For example my iMac USB 3.1 ports support a max speed of 480mb/s. Yet the thunderbolt ports have a 40gb mb/s
