That was your fuel pump relay. You always unplug that …to Operate without the pump running to depressurize itself ….with the injectors flowing . Just like you did, thats the best way to do it. Most older fuel connectors had white release tabs that break easily …. looks like yours has possibly been replaced with aftermarket connector On either side of the filter… in the fuel lines. Definitely hard to film. It makes a huge difference changing this filter if it’s never been done… great job.

You can clean up the old filter and blow through it to see how dirty it was. You should be able to blow freely through it. If it’s dirty you will know. Also, it seems you were under the car without it on jack stands. Never work on a car without it supported on jack stands and you should keep the jack in place as a back up.

Push the green clip in before pulling. Good to see you spilling, no matter how much you (or I) plan/avoid, always happens anyway...

For the idle up and down clean the mass air flow sensor using sensor cleaner and also clean the throttle body using throttle body cleaner. It’s important to use the cleaners I mention. Also make sure your air filter is clean. There are lots of videos about how to do this stuff correctly.

@@benlandry5589 I have an 06 that does this slightly when cold started but then it levels out after a few minutes and I read many people saying the same thing happens to them. I have cleaned those items and saw improvement with that. I’m going to change my fuel filter when my car comes out of winter storage. It has just shy of 100,000 miles and I changed the filter once before at about 50,000 miles.
