Nice vid. I had to remove 2 screws on the cover. Finally got what looks like the original filter out!

Thanks I appreciate it 👍 Yh if it’s original it will have screws but most the time people don’t put them back in lol 😂

Nice video and thanks for sharing it. How difficult is to replace the filter without removing clutch? I’m in Australia, and unfortunately the filter is on driver side.

Hey 👋 it’s a bit tricky but it can be done you just have to manipulate the filter into the hole but I’m sure with a few swear words and so scratches up ya arm you will get it done lol 😂

Thanks for making this video. How difficult is it removing the clutch pedal? Does it need to be disconnected from the hydraulics? Haven't had a go at it yet. Is it possible to get in there with a hoover attachment?

Hi, it’s only 3 nuts holding the pedal on and one pin holding it onto the master cylinder arm, once you have a look you will see it clearly, let me know how you get on 👍

@MrAutoFixer Had to take the clutch pedal out and that wasn't easy with inaccessible nuts holding it on.

Do you think it's ok to cut off the sharp plastic spines that stick out of the central unit? I've got my old filter out but cant get the new one in without it catching.

I’ve never had to cut anything off when doing one, if you can’t get it in just take the clutch pedal out it’s a few bolts, that way you will have lots of space to put the new one in. Thanks

It is impossible to insert a new filter without deforming it. After all, it doesn't make sense, because after replacing the filter, it doesn't cover the entire surface.

The filter slots into a shaped area inside the heater box, and if your finding it hard to fit the filter in then the official process involves removing the clutch pedal to gain better access.

@@MrAutoFixer Yes, I finally pulled out the clutch pedal and was able to replace this filter, but replacing this filter shouldn't be so stingy 😵‍💫

@Bartustatus yes I agree it’s a right faff to change if you haven’t done many then defo take the pedal out just mind the clutch switch as they are fragile! I only have the nak of doing them as I worked for Renault for a few years and done many per day! Hope it’s gone well for you 👌
