Engine Oil and Oil filter change on my Mk5 Golf GTI.
What is required:
- Engine oil - 4.6 litres. I used Castrol Edge 5W30 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162803236913
- Oil filter- £6.16- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143440945010
- Sump plug/washer- i used the old one back on as i put a new one on 5k miles ago.
- Oil drain pan- £5.99 www.eurocarparts.com/p/sealey...
- Screw driver
- Socket Set 36mm socket £4.99 www.eurocarparts.com/p/sealey...
- Jack & Axle stands
- Torque wrench
- Rag/gloves

@@mrmsv5042 Not really at the moment, it's totally standard. Just going to repair some scratches and rust spots and refurb the wheels. Then full detail on the paintwork. It's fast enough for me already even as stock, the most I would do is stage one remap, no exhaust or lowering or anything else. Thanks for your videos.
Had my mk5 GTI serviced 6 months but only driven it 3.5k milles and the low oil warning light came on. Been advised to use 5w40 instead of 5w30 to prevent it burning so quick as its a higher milage 112k miles on the clock.

MK5 GTIs are known for burning oil. I was amazed by reading from the owners manual itself that oil consumption is expected.

Hi, There is a link in the description for the filter. Alternatively, you can go onto a website like Eurocarparts and enter your cars Registration and it provides you with the correct filter for your vehicle. Thanks, Mr MSV

Hi, it depends on to be honest. On the service on the video i used 5w30 but my most recent i used 5w40. It depends on how often you change the oil and complete a service. Thanks, MR MSV

@@shaagealgareb9189 if you have a mod car 5w-40 for stage 1 and up If your car it’s stock 5w-30 it’s the recommended.

if you have DSP filter then 5w30, if no 5w40.(but you can check in owner manual )
