Steps: (if using a jack)
1. engage parking brake
2. block the wheels
3. jack up the car
4. use jack stand
5. place oil catch pan
6. remove oil drain plug
7. drain oil
8. remove oil filter
9. reinstall oil drain plug
10. oil the gasket on oil filter and install new oil filter
11. remove oil cap
12. add oil through top of engine (3.8 qts of 5W 20 check your car manual)
13. check oil stick and continue to add oil until between the L and F (low and full)
14. replace engine oil cap on engine
15. close hood
16. remove jack stand
17. lower jack
18. remove wheel blocks
19. remove parking brake (unless on at hill)

I would put some aluminum foil wirh a little duct tape around the filter area. Clean up would be easier. Otherwise, you just saved young families some $. Thank you.

Yeah, recommended full synthetic oil change will run at least $50, up to $100. Roughly $35 will get the supplies to do it yourself!
FYI, I think that Kia has changed the recommendation for these engines to 5W-30. I have a 2012 1.6 Gamma GDI, so the next round of engines, with more oil burning happening, since GDI engines don't self clean with gasoline washing over the intake valves.

I've been using 5w-20 for the past 2 oil changes and have just found out its supposed to be 5w-30, it's been rod knocking for a while
Does enough oil stay behind to cause any issues with that car on an incline?

That hole to drain the oil is in the worse place and position. Don't be lazy and remove that plastic at 5:13. If it's your car take care of it. Oh, now I see is not your car. That's why
