I just did my oil on my 2007 Lexus gs350 my car has the plastic cover covering the filter and it looks like an entire cover that goes across the entire body saw about 10 screws and a bunch of body clips mounting it in place do you know if the entire shield needs to be removed to get to the filter or just some because I saw another video for same year make and model except the the pan looked different and they were able to take off like two screws and the shield had a spot the looked like it was designed to fold down to access the filter

Not telling the size of the drain bolt is crazy lol but straight to the point I like

If you’re talking about the tool, I got it from Amazon. If you’re talking about the oil filler cap (drain plug) for your car, you should be able to get it from most auto parts centers. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

I don't have the vehicle with me. I use motiv tool #mx2391 or mx2320. One of them should fit.

Do you have to have that black fitment piece to take off filter cap?

Question do you need to fill the oil filter with some oil so you don’t run your engine on empty oil? Or this is only with the other oil filter the metal ones ? I just saw video says you have to fill it up

On this vehicle you can't fill the oil filter with oil because it is sideward. Some other vehicles the filter is facing up. You can fill the filter with oil. That is an option. It is not necessary to fill the filter with oil. Thanks for watching 🤙🤙🤙

I have a 2011 GS350 and came out to my garage this morning to see a puddle of oil near the drivers side i noticed i was smelling some oil . I'm trying not to freak out...but I'm freaking out

Sorry for the late response. Replacing the splash shield under the vehicle is straight forward, on some cars they’re bolted on and some use plastic retainers and some use both, you just gotta look at how it’s secured on. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Sorry for the late response. I don’t know off the top of my head but you can always call your local parts store and ask, they should know oil capacity and type of oil your specific vehicle needs. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

The 2007 Lexus GS 350 has an oil capacity of just under 7 quarts. If you own a rear-wheel drive, it needs 6.6 quarts of oil. The four-wheel drive (4WD) model holds 6.7 quarts. You added 7 full quarts plus that extra can. So you're probably a whole quart over what it should be.
