Thanks, I wondered what that box was doing on the top, got to change one later, I normally rough up the inside of the terminal clamps and the battery terminals with a bit of sand paper as well, you can use vaseline to protect the contacts if you do not have any electrical grease, the battery that has just failed in our car is the same stock battery you have, our one has done 12 years which is pretty good service, dont listen to negative comments about easy jobs, some people literally have never done this before and that is why videos like this are very welcome.

Planning to disconnect my battery as I put the car on SORN today during the lockdown. Watching this has given me a bit of confidence. Hope to be able to remove and keep the battery indoors, or atleast disconnect so it does not go flat in a few weeks/months. Fingers crossed! Thank you :)

Why should you not use 45AH?

Put your number plate into euro car parts and it will tell you the exact battery for diesel potentially it would need a slightly stronger battery take the information from the battery and buy it on eBay because Euro Car parts are too expensive except sometimes that offers 50% off then you can go ahead with them a battery shouldn't cost you more than 50 pound

Just watched to check what I need to go and remove the battery from my partner's father's Corsa. It needs recharging and he doesn't have any power sockets anywhere near the car.

I have a question do u have to put greast on the batter ??

lots of modern cars have electrical issues after unplugging the battery and even refuse to start... not the case with this one?

started because it screws up the electronics.

Car battery’s are only 12v so you will never get a shock off it, you’ve just got to be careful with metal pieces

Hi I contacted a few places when some of the bulbs in my display of my Picasso went , main dealership wanted a fiver a bulb , I phoned Euro car parts and the exact same thing was 20p each . They looked very embarrassed when I told them that I had spoken to the main dealership and they said they knew as they had phoned them (euro) about the bulbs. Euro car parts are not always a rip off but it's always worth checking. A very informative video. Cheers.

I never use Euro Crap parts anyway, their parts are cheep and fail within months.....

To be honest I have to disagree with this because if the battery is by Bosch what does it really matter where you by it

If you can't be bothered to watch the whole video from the bin again beginning to the end then nothing can help you

When changing any car battery the FIRST thing you should do is disconnect the negative terminal. I seriously doubt the extent of your knowledge if you cant recognize a fuse. Perhaps best you don't advise other people. If you must play with things you don't understand, Equipping yourself with proper tools ie socket set or a nut driver, makes life a lot easier to undo the hold down bolt.. The "grease" you refer to is petroleum jelly often sold under brand name Vaseline. I think your comments about Euro Car Parts are unfair as by your own admission you need the car in use and waiting even a day (which I doubt) would have meant you were unable to use it.

Very chaotic, always disconnect the negative terminal of the battery first, you are asking for problems, many problems, you are a very bad example.

This guy just made a easy job hard,ffs mate get your act together it's only a battery your changing OMG.
