lynn scarry Definitely get in touch with Vax or the retailer you purchased it from as it shouldn't fail within two weeks. I would ask for a replacement machine personally. I hope you get it resolved to your satisfaction.

Brilliant it better when some one shows how to do it put the belt on it looks easy to do thank you for showing us.

Glad you found it useful.

Putting the rear plate (or single full length plate on some models) back on is a lot, lot easier if you have the head in the 90 degree locked position. The pivote of the head unit gets in the way when it's down as shown in the video.

I have replaced mine 7 times in the past & it was done the proper way after watching Your video. Thank You by the way for the visual info. but My belt will last for a full washing most of the time but it pops into every single time. So I have come to the conclusion that I have to keep a big stock of belts in order to keep using my hoover dual power. Thanks again & I hope Your belt lasts better than all of mine have. I order mine through hoover , so its not generic belt, maybe I should order the cheaper belts i guess.

+Kimberly Paymaster The belt should be lasting longer than that. Have you contacted Hoover because it sounds like yours is faulty.

Its past the warranty so I'm out of luck but I just hope other people will watch out if this happens to theres & get a replacement. Thanks for responding back though 😊

I got it all put back together and could not figure out why my brushes wouldn't spin. I had the handle upright! Wow!!!! Lol

@ibaisaic I've got the pet version of that machine and I just want to ask if water mists out the exhaust vent on the back of your cleaner. I sat the cleaner on a hardwood floor to clean a rug with the hose and noticed a small puddle of water where the exhaust vents are. Just want to know if this is normal.

What numbers do the smaller screws go in

No sorry, I got rid of this machine ages ago.

Hi, how do you remove the front part that sucks up the water? I’ve got a build up of grim and I don’t know how to clean it?

Even though the original model has a known fault and eats belts, you wont get the updated part free. Vax wrote to me: "If your machine is within the warranty period we may be able to send the part free of charge or replace the machine. If not you can get the part number and price details by following the link below or we can offer you a discount on a purchase of new machine"

My vax seems to not stand as upright is slants when in upright position can I fix this ??

What is the belt size I have a hard time reading so please make it easy

any idea on how to fix the handle release please, it fell backwards and now the handle just falls down all the time, thanks.

Hope you are still around. I have a problem with my w86-dd-b dual power cleaner Vax say the belt is not changeable, well it is very similar to yours but the screws you undid release the top cover then you can change the belt BUT they don't supply them, what model is yours as the belt looks a similar size and I might try one.. BTW was your original he same mode; as mine orange and grey coloured with orange brushes. cheers Dave

I push the on n cuttiñ happens n I had tryed this yesterday n it worked about 5 mins n I saw smoke n shut down right away

mine doesn't come off in 2 pieces it comes off in one piece

they are very bad model them they snap belts even with that bar fitted i have 8 here from auction had to do minor mod make belt last longer

I think you'll find the correct phrase is I talk too much. Look up the difference between to and too before you decide to comment in future. This machine is shite, my advice is get a different washer, I have the new part and have to change the belt every time I use it that’s £4 every time I use the machine and not to mention the time to change it every time! This is a bad fault and they should not be sold due to this! I am having to use it as can’t afford a replacement right now but believe me I have replaced the Belt 12 times and have fitted another today! I have 3 more left and it’s going to the tip! This thing is a total pile of shit!

Vax items are shit, I have had three machine sent to me, all broke after year or so.

We're no interested about spindal just get on with it ffs

Do not buy this machine ibecause it's a piece of crap Changing belts on a "" housewife "" machine should not be this hard nor should it require any special tools
