I was missing the 5 minute story about how it was cold and the door wouldn't open and then I went to the internet and couldn't find any good information, and then I tried to use a wet noodle to open it and that didn't work so I went on a walk to think it over, and then I got hungry and went to make a peanut butter sandwich, but i forgot I was allergic so I went into anaphylaxis, and as I awoke to find my ten children crying over me, I suddenly saw the solution was so simple...

Thanks for the vid! I figured out another way - which I think is the original intention of the maker. Slide the metal clip-on piece out and insert the bent tip in the opening then twist. Pops right open - easier than a clam! :-)

This is for sure the better way to open it. This video for sure was helpful, but even using a coin can damaged the opener. Much better off using the bent tip. Thanks for this helpful comment!

Super easy, I did have to take it apart twice, because I should of wiped off the little bit of film that was there. After I wiped that off it work perfectly. Thank you. Your video was straight to the point and quick.

you can use the clip to open the little tab (instead of a quarter). works like a charm.

Does it matter which way the battery goes into it, the lettering was up, but i thought maybe the positive (+) part of the battery had to be in a specific spot?? Have the Sam's remote as this, and put a new battery in and still didn't work.

re-train your opener to your remote. Press the LEARN button on the opener and then press the opener buttons.

was just about ready to take a tire iron to it!

Ours uses an A23 battery. Still not working. When I hold the button down it’s yellow. Any ideas?

How do I know if it needs to be changed? And what kind of battery is that?

You'll know when it needs to be changed when it no longer raise your garage door. Look at the battery already in the remote. It will have some numbers and letters etched on it. Take that with you to the store and get the exact one.

@@too2great8 I actually did get new batteries and it still doesn't work We just moved into the house so I guess we need to have someone come and check it out.

with modern tech you would think they would just place a release button that you can just press to open remote. as you can see the remote is all cut up for trying to open it.

A penny always seems to work great for me.
