Good video...BUT when changing batteries always use plastic or ceramic tip tweezers so you don't short the battery.

Awesome vid ... learn so much like don’t buy a watch you have to spend an equal amount of money on tools just to be able to change a battery.

I read some people saying that changing a battery on a Precisionist was a pain in the butt. This is remarkably simple.

@@SoCalWatchReviews It's my pleasure! I was actually looking to see about my Lunar Pilot's battery but it uses an SR927, not a CR2016. I envy your beautifully-sweeping second hand because the LP doesn't have that. It has a "two-tick-per-second" 6-o'clock subdial for a second hand. I've been looking at the 96K112 and I'm going to go try one on tomorrow. I only hope that its 40mm dial size isn't too small because my wrists are rectangular (40mm tall × 60mm wide with hard corners) and so the usual dial sizes I wear range from 45mm-47mm. It kinda sucks for me because most of the real banger watches are 40mm. I know, first-world problems, eh? 😁

@@AvroBellow for me is the opposite, this watch wears very big so I haven’t worn it in almost 4 years. However is a keeper because it was a Father’s Day gift. Good luck man 👍🏼

Do you have a video on Bulova watches for 98R149 on how to place the gasket back on & the back cover to the watch?

What toolkit do you recommend for those late bulova’s? I bough one on Amazon and doesn’t extend that far.

I have a Bulova Snorkel II and the back is similar to the back of the Precisionist you’re showcasing. I’m assuming the battery can be removed without disturbing the white nylon ring? Thank you.

All screw-down casebacks are similar. What you want is to search for how to change the battery on an Accutron II watch because that's what the Snorkel II uses. This watch uses a Precisionist movement which, while similar, is not exactly the same. The Precisionist movement was actually created by Citizen, not Bulova. Even among watches with Precisionist movements there can be differences found. My Lunar Pilot uses a Precisionist movement but since it doesn't have a sweeping second hand, my battery is a little CR927, not a CR2016. I'm pretty sure though that the Accutron II (in the Snorkel II) does use a 2016 because of its power-eating constant second hand sweep. It might be located in the same place (it would make more sense if it were) but there's no way to know without opening your watch up. If you've never done this before and don't have the special tools for it, just take it to a watch store and have them change the battery because it's far better to spend less than $20 on a battery change than screwing something up and damaging (or killing) your watch.
just curious, why not post an affiliate link - I'm about to buy the kit and i'm sure a few others would have too

I’ve had affiliate links, the problem is that since no one ever buys through them Amazon keeps deleting my account for “inactivity”. I’ve tried 3 times and have had the same result. Thank you 🙏 for looking out and watching the video 👍🏼
What type of lubricant do you recommend before placing the case back on?

Just a tiny bit of silicone-based grease. The easiest way to find silicone grease is to use its Home Depot name, dielectric grease.
If that type of crystal gets scratched how would you polish it? Does Bulova use mineral crystal?
@SoCalWatchReviews

It does get scratched, it’s a mineral crystal. Some people say you can remove the scratches: www.watchuseek.com/threads/how-to-remove-scratches-from-mineral-crystal-it-works.717486/

@@SoCalWatchReviews Hey so I used Polywatch Glass polish. Black package and 2 syringes of paste. I wish they included more than 0.3ml of each paste but I spent maybe 1-2 hours with the included wood tool and just kept polishing and I got about 80-90% of the scratch completely removed. If I had more product I bet I would be able to real close to 99% maybe even 100
