I have never removed one. I read online that it could be a tensioner or a filter though.

I believe 1 quart or less. Just add slowly and check the dip stick.

I hope you can help me, my 125cc starts up and then it goes full throttle, I change the carb and the manifold thinking I had an air leak but it keeps doing it. Check the throttle cable and it’s fine. It doesn’t matter where you have adjustment screws in the carburetor it still goes going full throttle or idling really higher automatically. Any ideas what can be wrong? Oil chain? Spark plug?

It sounds like a throttle issue or carb issue. Unscrew the top of carb where throttle cable goes into and make sure the guide is aligned with the nipple. On the inside of the carb. There is a slot on the part that holds the needle. If that is not aligned the throttle will stay opened all the way. If the carb is gummed up, it could get stuck open also. A new carb is $12-$15. If you have instagram I can send you pics. Please make sure to subscribe.

@@brokemexicanreviews hello, thank you for responding. I already put a new carburetor and a new manifold in and it still idling really high. I was reading that it could be gas in the oil? I’m going to change the oil tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem

When you replaced the carb was the float needle seated completely. Typically high rev is caused by too much fuel…which indicates a carb issue, carb is feeding too much fuel, or throttle cables is stuck open.

@@brokemexicanreviews all that is brand new and the needle looks good. I think there’s is an air leak in one of the head gasket. Also I started draining the oil today and as it was draining I notice that it looks like water maybe there is gas mixed or water idk. I guess the person who owned it before never changed it? Maybe that is the issue idk I’m adding fresh oil in it tomorrow and trying it again to see what happens I kind of let it drained all night to make sure there not water/gas in there anymore. If that doesn’t work I’m going to change the head gaskets next.

Well I removed mine by accident. It had a spring keeping a piston inside. The piston came down but did not fall out. It had a couple small holes in the piston. Scrabbled to replace it and hoped not too much oil came out. There was not a lot in there, just enough to lube the piston and i prob only lost a drop or two.@@brokemexicanreviews

Awesome. Thanks for the update. I’ve always avoided removing it as I’ve never had to.
