How To Change Headlight Bulbs In A 2008 Chevy Suburban

How To Change Headlight Bulbs In A 2008 Chevy Suburban. So this should be an easy task but when you start dismantling your car and still cannot get the bulb to come out its time for some help. This video will show you how to take outand replace the headlight bulb in a 2008 chevy suburban but is the same for any chevy suburban tahoe from 2007 to 2013 . This how to change your headlight should pretty easy to follow and what not to take loose. You will need some metric sockets and wrenchs to do the job. The halogen bulbs are not as fragile as some may think but you don't want to get your finger prints and grease on the halagon bulb because it will burn it out. In my opinion the sylvania bulb is a great choice and a perfect fit. I hope this helps.

Do appreciate videos from people like you for normal people instead of big mechanics who over explain and complicate.

One thing I did (thanks to this video) I left the inside 10mm bolt backed out far enough, prolly 1/3" gap, so the fork will slide back and forth but it's still snug enough to do it's job. Next time I change bulbs... hopefully, I won't have to do anything other than remove the top two 10mm bolts. Also it's important to change these bulbs in pairs. I know people will disagree but I have been the unlucky one that changed one bulb only to have to change the other one about 3 days later. They typically burn out at relatively the same time. Don't get stuck TWICE.

Blake Ingram your mistaken. 2007 to 2013 are the same, not 6 to 12. I think the key to not breaking the tab is to loosen more, it has a lot of tread. Like the video.

Personally, GM made a major failure in their design of the headlight assembly! No freak'n lightbulb should require such effort to access/replace! I say this as I recently purchased a 2013 Avalanche and had to replaced the low beam headlights,...and the DRL mini-bulbs!

  • @casmithc2

I drove mine for a year with no headlight. Too lazy to pull it completely out. Replace all the bulbs when you have the assembly out. Major pain in the ass for us non=mechanics.

Such a stupid design! My 2004 Yukon XL had 2 pins that held the headlight assembly in place. Pull the pins out and change a bulb in about 2-3 minutes.
