    An excellent video with first class techniques being used. For those who don't have a hydraulic press, a length of threaded rod and appropriate diameter washers / spacers can be used to remove and install the bearing. Also, it sometimes makes life easier when installing the new bearing to warm the bearing housing in an oven (60 or 70 degrees is enough). This expands the housing slightly and helps the bearing fit.

    According to Haynes and clubgti the driveshaft main hub nut should be torqued to 265nm not 170nm

  • @autodocuk

    @autodocuk

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, you are right, the propeller shaft main hub nut must be tightened with a torque of not 265 Nm but 230 Nm, however, also take into account the mounting configuration directly in your case, since the tightening torque may differ depending on the type of mounting.

    You shouldnt loosen those bolts at 2:18. You only mess your angles. Just remove the upper nut on shock absorber.

    Re you suggesting pulling the bearing housing out with the shock and try to do the job in the shop press with the shock/strut attached, because you don't wanna mess with camber? I get your point, but not sure how to pull that off!
