    I would have liked to see more video of you actually taking everything out. That and was it necessary to drain the transmission fluid to do this job?

  • @TCsAnythingGoes

    Thanks for your comment. Will take note on it. Yes, it is necessary to drain the transmission fluid else you will have transmission fluid leaking from the gearbox once you remove the driveshaft. That would be very messy.

    Hey bro, why you refill CVT fluid after? is that mandatory after changing drive shaft? love your videos btw

    i drained the CVT fluid before removing the driveshaft. This is neccesary unless you want CVT fluid flowing out once you remove the driveshaft. And I figured since I already drained it, might as well fill in fresh fluid (some people will just pour back the old fluid in which I do not recommend)

    My car is around 290k km already. You only change your driveshafts when you notice problems with it. Among common problems: - clunking sound when doing either max left or right turn + accelerating. - vibration from under the car at certain speed - steering wheel vibration (all wheels are balanced) the problem I had was a soft clunk on right turn + accelerating. And also most noticeable problem was vibration from under the car when I go above 110km/h. Can't even go to 140km/h without feeling like the car is going to shake itself to death.

  • @dizzylizard6142

    does a bad cv axle causes the car to be misaglign and makes the steering wheel to shake quite hard if i drive past over 120 km/h? I've recently changed to new 4 set of michelin tires thinking it's because of the second hand tires i'm rocking with 3 days ago lol but now the car still move to the left when driving straight and now im suspecting it's the cv axle because i already change the tie rod last year and the ball joint mechanic says still usable. what your thoughts on this bro?

  • @TCsAnythingGoes

    while I can't say that your specified case is related to cv axle but a faulting CV axle will cause vibration at certain speeds as well as alignment issues.

    @TC's Anything Goes does the cv axle have an abs ring. For example do I have to remove old abs ring from old cv axle? Or the new one should come come with abs ring? Or this is is no abs ring?

  • @TCsAnythingGoes

    @TCsAnythingGoes

    @@chrisr.986 there is no ABS ring. From the looks of it, it most likely read from the teeth at the driveshaft. doesn't seem to have a separate hardware for it. just remember to take the sensor out before punching the driveshaft out of the hub.

    @@TCsAnythingGoes That is good to hear. I am now on 100,000km with my Lancer and the only major problems I have encountered thus far are a crack in the OEM radiator on one of the plastic end tanks about 2 years ago, a leaking head gasket about 18months ago, and now an intermittent starting issue where the car does not crank when the key is turned, which has been identified as a problem with the starter. I just had the starter serviced last month which seems to alleviate the issue. The engine and transmission both still work great. I’m hoping that can continue till 300k like yours as well !!!

    @@dredman1628 these cars seems to go on pretty good as long as we do take care of it. As opposed to what people normally do, I only change my CVT fluid when I start hearing whining sound from the gearbox. But I do change both the bottom and top filter together with the fluid change. So far, running strong and each fluid change last me between 60k to 90k km depending on how and where I drive. I did have the radiator plastic end leaked on me once and I had the plastic bits changed only. The radiator core was still in good condition (workshop says its the best he has ever seen on a 10 year old car, mainly because the system always had coolant inside)
