The heading for this video should include the YEAR of the VOLVO as in 2004 VOLVO XC70 Headlight

How is the light spread? I ask because this headlight assembly doesn't have a projector. The OEM bulb is halogen, I would assume the xenon HID bulb you put would blind every passing car

Uhm no these came with oem xenon. These are D2R bulbs which are designed for reflector headlamps. The ones for projector lamps is called D2S.

You installed the bulb incorrectly. It's upside down. You won't plug the plug into the socket.

The hardest part of this was to return the new lamp & connector base back into the headlight assembly. The "little wire spring" also came off and created problems. Ultimately busted the new $100 lamp and took the whole mess to the dealer. This is the last Volvo I will ever own...

Rejecting an entire car brand because you failed to change a headlight bulb is kinda funny. Most modern cars are a pain to work on, in various ways

Yeah, having worked on lots of cars over the last 30 years I have to agree with him. My wife has a 2005 XC70 and I seem to be forever putting it up on my scissor lift to do something to it. The poor design/quality of some components compared to many other manufacturers stands out. That’s before I get onto wholly avoidable electrical problems with this model and the XC90. My 1968 Amazon, and my fathers 245 /740 different ball game and quality and a philosophy of building with repair in mind clearly evident. Stripped a W210 merc down to bare shell and impressed with general design/quality. Volvo were great cars but not anymore. Full marks for your video though and helping people navigate such tasks! 👍
