How To Change a Moen Shower Head

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This would be a perfect first DIY project as the need for tools are low and you literally can be completed this project in a couple minutes. When looking for a new shower head just make sure you match the finish of the new shower head to the other trim pieces in the bathroom. Also pick up a roll of teflon tape to ensure no leaks after install.

Thanks for getting right to the point!👌 No frills. 😎 The homeowner suggested I watch/find a KZread video about this before upgrading my 🚿 shower head. Glad and reassured to know that the task was as intuitive as I thought. 🙂 Hello new shower head!

If only a few minutes was the answer in my shower. The outer end of my pipe isn't threaded; instead, it has a round ball with a center hole for the water. The ball appears to be permanently attached to the pipe, maybe soldered? A loose collar slides over the ball with inside threads; the shower head (with outside threads) screws into the collar. If the entire pipe has to be replaced from inside the wall, sure sounds risky for a DIY. What to do?

My wrench won't tighten enough to grip the shower head. Just slides around instead of turning the shower head. Don't know what to do :(

🤔 are you using a crescent wrench, channel locks, or another type?

@@EverydayHomeRepairs It's a crescent wrench and the connection is round so it's just not gripping it. Getting my uncle to check it out and hopefully he has the right tools. Thanks for your video and for responding!

@@Skeptique if it is only round then I would use a pair of channellock pliers. Also, if you want to not damage the shower head put a towel or paper towel between the round threaded part of the shower head and your pliers before loosening.

I once bought a shower head from walmart and i never needed to use wrench or teflon tape. You just turn it counterclockwise to remove it and just put a new one in. There was no need to hold the bar with one hand. Id say this is more complicated design. Id make sure i never buy Moen shower head
