Hi lancets are common, they fit in almost all pricking devices. You'll find it in your local chemist

The needle doesn't prick after pressing the button, though the piston gives a click sound. What might be the problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Santosh! Couple of things to check - is there an opened lancet inside the pricking device? Maybe the pricking device is set to 1 (or something low), you may have to twist it to a high setting, it's also possible the pricking device is faulty

How do you get the lancet out?

what needle are you using? looks like medup? also how is the packageing of your needles? is it loosely placed in teh carton box or was there any sealed cover inside?

Ideally each time (or after a couple of times) but almost no one we know does that

If you buy a kit of lancets and test strips there will be twice as many test strips so they assume you will use the lancet 2 times.

If it hurts you might want to reduce the number on the pricking device (if its 5 make it 2 or 3). Also can ask other diabetics on our Facebook group - facebook.com/groups/bluecirclediabetesfoundation/

I pricked a used needle after two hours..can I get hiv on this way...some people tell only hollow needle is the way to spread... shall u clarify...

Try adjusting the depth on the pricking device - usually the higher the number, the more deep the needle will prick

There might be some way to open it, be it round or square or whichever shape - usually twist to open or press a button or pull (couple of options)

accidentally my finger poked little with someone's used lancet while removing it from the pen machine where the lancet is placed. blood didn't came just poked. Does it infect with HIV or something? Please tell ma'am I'm really scared. 😭

Hi Riya please don't worry. If the person who used the lancet is HIV+, then there *may* be a chance of transmission, otherwise there's no way you'll get HIV. Be careful next time & don't worry too much you'll be fine💙

Yes it's a problem - one lancet for one person only. Can re-use the same lancet for the same person but can't use the same lancet for different people

Lancet - needle. One pricking device (with changing the individual lancet/needle each time) is ok for multiple people

Nobody ever shows how to get needle out to change .
