How to catch doormat flounder & shark in cherry grove sc with berkley gulp

Спорт

Fishing in cherry grove South Carolina. Using artificial gulp. The water was stained from the rain the day before. The Berkley gulp new penny color seemd to do the trick.

Man I’ve had decent luck with anything gulp. I normally use them 4”pearl white gulp swimming mullet. Usually pair it with a 1/4 oz D.O.A. Brand jig head. If the pin fish are bad and the lizard fish bite the tail off a lot. I’ll switch to a 4” zman white paddle tail. To save in the cost of tearing the tails off the gulp.

@@robwinemiller9712 yes that’s a decent spot that channel is deeper along the bank. Get on google maps and you’ll see the deeper Chanel there. I’d fish the incoming and the outgoing tide. I would think the outgoing there would be a little better!

What a whopper of a flounder! Dag gone! Stayed on 53rd ave last year, tried fishing off the boat launch. No luck. Got minnows from Fish On Outfitters… With one of their double hook weighted jigs… no luck. Went through a pile of minnows…. Seems like flounder are like bass. Seems like they’re a sight hunter, they like motion. They told me just to throw the minnows out and wait… Got picked to death by crabs I’m assuming… Going down early next month for a week vacation again. Any tips/pointers locations there in the channel, would be greatly appreciated. Going to be fishing from the bank is the only issue… Thought about fishing Hog Inlet, but was worried about sharks like you experienced lol.

Man I rarely fish with live bait. Just for the simple fact that I normally drive 2 hours to go fishing and 2 hours back home. And I just don’t have time to get live bait. Man I’ve had decent luck with anything gulp. I normally use them 4”pearl white gulp swimming mullet. Usually pair it with a 1/4 oz D.O.A. Brand jig head. Just pretty much fan cast and slowly hop the bait back/ drag it back. Pretty much like fishing a Texas rigged worm for bass. Just for flounder have to make sure it’s at the bottom or right off the bottom.

@@Captain_Kdawg awesome! I will definitely be getting me some of those! Also those “new penny” shrimp in case the waters kinda brown… So basically let it hit bottom, and “pop it” has you retrieve it? Or just a steady, slow, retrieval while it’s dragging the bottom?

@@frankensteincreations4740 just try it either way. And see what works best. But normally if you bounce it around a flounders head. They will bite it. I personally think flounder are a not soo smart of a fish. And some people say that haven’t caught many of them. That they are hard to catch? But once you get the feel and learn it. There easy to catch. As long as your in a area with flounder. If your ever dragging it and all a sudden fell like weight is on it. Hook sets are free! Cross their eyes 😂
