When Richard Gene says, "In my opinion," I take it as fact.

I swanny I’ve watched several KZreadrs but no one get my attention like this man he really is the greatest

Richard I want to say say brother keep being an inspiration to us all to be better fishermen and to walk closer with God.

One of them hybrids that you caught looked like a cross between a shell cracker and a pumpkinseed.

Those hybrids definitely didn't have rock bass in them, kinda thinking Warmouth and maybe Redbreast or something like that but not rock bass.

I would like to see a video of of fishing a bathtub. An above ground man made reservoir that goes basically 0 feet then to 20 plus feet immediately 3.5 miles around without a fish finder. Yesterday 4 crappie 15 inches minimum and 10 gills on crappie nibbles. This morning same spot, same depth no crappies but 3 small mouth bass same technique. I’m 61 and still haven’t figured out above ground reservoirs . Beautiful fishing spot!

Brings back memories as a boy. We'd wade beaver creek and cowskin. Catch sun fish,bluegill and goggle eye. Eat every one of them too. Fried whole in cornmeal

they are super aggressive. friend had 2 in a 200gallon tank. we spent a lot of time having fun feeding them. smart too. caught them under a bridge in a small creek had a massive alligator snapper in it Love this channel so much.

Small word, I just finished a video doing the exact same thing but rockbass and smallmouth 😂 That one looked more like a warmouth/bluegill hybrid to me.

I remember reading in my dad's old 1950s fishing mags about two bass guys who went camping deep in the forest ponds--but forgot all their tackle in the truck! They had a couple of bare hooks from their vests, so they had to dig up grubs to get a bream dinner going with their one can of beans!

Wooo-man that Revo is one impressive looking spinning reel. I love fishing at a discount; however, I gifted myself a Revo casting reel some years ago and just love it. I became a big fan of the crank handles with the big pear or teardrop shaped EVA foam knobs, that would be the one thing I'd change out on that spinning reel. Thx for the video, wish I was there. I counted 7 water moccasins he missed or didn't see, 2 were dangling from limbs. He's brave fishing alone in places like that.

I am jealous of your creeks Richard! Clear water and gator-free! Cannot say the same about creeks/bodies of water in South East NC! Where I'm from you don't get in the water without a boat, let alone stand closer than a few feet from, and fish releases must be very quick and I typically walk a bit down from where I caught em 😅

Tried the Zman larvae recently. They worked great but the tail ripped off fairly easy on the green pumkin color. Not sure if the black flecks make it weaker but they didn't last as long as i thought they would. Also, keep the baits out of direct sunlight or they will melt. Left my tackle box open and ruined a bag of the larvae z's from the heat/sun. Thanks for your videos!

Great video, Richard. I've caught a lot of Redbreast Sunfish this year and I find that if the bass aren't biting at the creek then I can always count on some of them to strike. I've caught them on lures as big as 4 inch plastic worms, spybaits, and Super Spook Jrs. They fight well for their size too. We are fortunate to live along side them.

I believe at 16:10 that this is a Redear Sunfish, having a similar red spot to a pumpkinseed but without the full splash of colorful body, just having the normal stripes of a female bluegill.

That is my favorite brim right there! These creek fishing vids are the best. Watching the bait land, seeing the hit, it is almost like being there. You just need to keep your hamhocks away from the camera! You can chunk that tiny bait with that small braid. We would find those redbreast in sloughs off the main river. I wish youtube was around when I was doing that. Wouldn't have had to get all nasty with that earthworm glue and dirt. But that was thirty years before KZread. Back then I think the only small plastic was the beetle spin.

I fed my family from 10 mile creek in DeSoto Texas back in the 70's.....we had no money to buy groceries, i worked at dresser industries that paid peanuts......I used a throw line with cheddar cheese ball, and caught nice 2 lb. catfish......we survived on this ! I fished every day on way home from work every evening......CAUGHT 5 TO 8 EVERY DAY....My wife is dead, I am trying to move, and live off grid, so I will be fishing to survive again.....I AM 72 NOW....
