I keep the cartridge pierced. So far I have experienced very little CO2 loss over time (it should still have enough to fire a whole mag after a year of sitting). Also, the valve design is very robust and super simple to rebuild if needed. I would be more worried about the hammer spring wearing out if left cocked for too long.

I'm on the fence about buying the Glock 17 Gen 5 T4E. And the reasons are because of the C02 issue and the price. If I'm paying well over $300 bucks for this gun, which I plan to carry as a pepperball/self defense option, I dont want to have to fiddle with the C02 canister if an emergency presents itself. Or, after already spending over 300, I dont wanna have to spend another $60+ on a quick piercing magazine to make my gun more efficient. I mean, close to $400 is just a lot of money to spend.

The brains of the action lies within the magazines of both of those pistols. With basic hand tools they are easily stripped down. I am very surprised that No company has designed a modified Drop in Valve to Increase the velocity. I would think that it could be possible to bring it up to about 9 joules.

I love the T4E Home defense series of markers and the quick pierce system on those weapons work fine, the Glock and PPQ should have some kind of similar implementation, or like a byrna system where the co2 is pierced on the first trigger pull.

Obvious people will say it leak over time however I hear ZERO LEAKAGE. but i do agree they need to make a mag when it pierces UPON FIRING now that'll be the perfect magazine i heard tipmannx does this feature. I hope t4e make it like this some day. I got their ppq m2 built in Allen key pretty useful also extra mag for 199$ blue version. I also got the vp9 and the g17gen5. I own the grimburg FSC pistol. I can not buy pepper balls in NYS, no idea why. The gun can be turned up to 360 fps with 68 cal. steel balls. They will go through quarter inch plywood... Lethal if hit in the face or head. I want pepperballs, but can't get them shipped here. So I have a gun has a lot of power for C02. It also sounds like a real gun when fired.

I have one of the mags for the PPQ you're talking about. And coming from an actual handgun instructor there's nothing natural about that. You should not have to slap the bottom of your magazine or rack your slide when you draw your weapon. When you draw a real firearm you do one of two things, draw and shoot or draw and cut the safety off and shoot if it has one.

@@arkitekto323 Yes, military carry and use and concealed carry and use can be very different instructions. Especially the military you are talking about. With a good pistol, you should not need to ensure the mag is seated upon drawing in self defense. But in battle, sure. Complete different scenario you know you're going into battle, not getting mugged by one guy you weren't expecting. There are a lot of best practices that you teach in military settings based off of the type of weapon or the situation that don't apply in civi life. However, I don't know how anyone would have the argument that you should be carrying it unloaded and you should have to rack your slide before you shoot somebody. Cuz for one thing that takes time for another thing you have to use two hands to do that unless you're really experienced which if you're really experienced, you wouldn't be carrying it unloaded anyway not to mention the fact that that's one less round that you can carry too. In my opinion and a lot of other firearm instructors opinion, it is more dangerous to carry a gun like that. Look some military weapons didn't have nearly the safety features in place to keep the hammer from striking the firing pin if it was dropped as stuff does now. Which is where that kind of stuff comes from but that is like not even realistic or necessary in modern Times in a CCW sitch

  • Жыл бұрын

The best caliber is 9mm. These are paintball guns, don't try to use them for self defense or you'll end up in a grave. If you can't carry a real weapon then carry a pepper spray or a taser. Those are designed for personal protection, unlike T4E pistols, which are designed for training. Just to give you an idea - these guns deliver about 5 joules of energy, while a strong punch delivers over 100, and a 9mm bullet delivers over 600 joules.

  • Жыл бұрын

@@stephenpope578 Probably as much as being shot eight times with a slingshot, and plenty of examples exist of people being badly hurt with it. Still, no law enforcement or security agencies in the world use slingshots. They use pepper sprays, tasers, batons and firearms, for a good reason - they work. None of them uses paintball guns. Even when they shoot rubber balls they use real firearms loaded with special ammunition, called baton rounds, which is way more powerful than t4e (about 150 joules).

@ There was a study done on self defense situations in America involving guns. In 92% of those situations the victim merely needed to brandish or point the firearm to deter the attack. It's rare to have to even fire a gun in a normal self defense situations if after the person realizes you have a gun, especially if they don't have a gun themselves. In which case even a replica would be better than having nothing. If they did have a gun I wouldn't suggest doing so obviously but in that situation I would suggest trying to pull out pepper spray either.

@ You need to get your facts straight... Law enforcement have been using these style of non lethal for a while now. It not this gun in particular but it still a "paintball gun". It also use in a few military branches. So do more research before spewing nonsense. Also, you suggest carrying a pepper spray or a taser... Try pulling anyone of that out when your attacker have a gun and see how that end up. It common sense to not pull out a non lethal against an attacker armed with a gun. A "paintball gun" allow you to defend yourself from a greater distance then both of those option and it also look like a real gun. There less of a chance that your attacker will change his mind after seeing you hold a tiny bottle of OC spray or a bright color taser. Many however, would quickly run when they see their target holding a "real" firearm.

You're not force to use it just because it on your body... If someone pull a real gun and you're not carrying one of these, then what are you going to do? Well, simply continue doing whatever you would do if you're weren't carrying. Plain and simple, it not rocket science... But if someone came at you with a blunt weapon or just their hand and leg, you now have the option to hurt them from a distance. How is this so hard to understand? Be smart about the situation and choose the best option. Not everyone can go buy and legally carry a real gun you know.
