T4E Magazine Cleaning, Disassembly and Maintenance

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So you've fired tons of CO2 through your T4E product, how do you get the CO2 gunk out of the mag?
Watch this informational tear down as I explain in detail the inner workings of the T4E magazine 'magic' so you can better understand what you spent your hard earned money on.
I am beginning to think I am the only one that owns a Smith and Wesson M&P9 2.0 .43cal, but the concept is the same for other Variants.
As always, thanks for watching!!

Very helpful video for a new T4E owner. I love to see dissections. That mag is remarkable how all of the key parts are self-contained. It's also great to know that if the mag ever is beyond fixable then a new mag should get the marker right back up and running.

Going with a slightly lighter spring for more FPS will add i reckon around 1-2 joules tops. These are set at 7.5 joules or below iirc (UK spec is 6 ft/lbs for pistols) so a slightly lighter spring should potentially bump it up to around 8-9 joules (Obviously just for science). UK rifle joule limit is 16 (or 12 ft/lbs) for rifles which personally i think should apply to pistols as well. Think one of these like a glock17 gen 5 with rubber balls at 16 joules would be one hell of a fun plinker. I'd happily use one co2 cartridge per mag for that kind of power increase. Shame we're heading in a direction where even these will be either licensed or outright banned in the near future god forbid anyone enjoys shooting in the 21st century.

Hey there fellow Canadian! Thank you for sharing this! Being a noob I accidentally dropped my T4E mag on the floor and the bottom cover came off. :( I slid it back on the cover before putting back the tiny plastic screw with spring attached to it. Now I can't slide out the bottom cover of the mag. How do you do this? Thank you

I really like these T4E magazines. Kinda as the other basic airgun valves surely. But that valve nozzle seal ring in the brass valve cap has seemingly been very reliable. Many airgun valves use quite hard plastic seals that seems to be a bit more prone to leak. These greenish valve seals do very good. I shot a few mags my PPQ some time ago. Left the co2 cartridge in. Took it out for testing after a month or two of waiting - and it had held well the gas. Not encouraging others to do as I did. I just wanted to test the magazine valve for the heck of it. I also do own a spare magazine - just in case.

If you bore out the .43 section, wider as in oval shaped horizontally, would the .43 rounds stagger like an airsoft magazine?

I personally believe anything is possible. If your skills are good enough, metal dowel pins and high strength epoxy may net you a functioning unit, dunno how pretty it would be . Buttttt… Big changes coming to the channel soon, don’t miss them.

Hey, pin it if you can please: I wanted the gun to puncture cardboard form 10m reliably and avoid ricocheting (I use it as cheap alternative for training since ammo for my real gun is expensive) so I tried that mod and it does very little. I also made the valve pin longer by soldering a small metal circle on the end of it. It also does very little if anything. I also lenghened the firing pin by soldering small metal circle on the hammer end of it and made spacers for the hammer spring legs (you have to glue some small wedges to the slot of one leg and to the frame in place of the other) as an alternative for stronger spring because there are no stronger ones for sale and I'd be very difficult to make one yourself. Combining all these things it's noticeably stronger but still well below allowed (here) 17j. I think the main mod would be completely redoing the valve on the lathe. You'd have to make a version of it with larger volume so larger diameter of the "pipe" section of it and drill out the slot in the frame of the valve assembly so it fits. CO2 guns rely on vaporisation pressure and temperature of CO2 since it's in liquid form inside the capsule (that's why the power distribution is even to the end of the capsule and that's why they shoot weaker in cold weather). If it holds only so much liquid CO2 per shot there's nothing you can do to make it stronger save for redoing the valve. Other thing you can do is to lathe new barrel with smaller caliber since ammo for this gun fits waaay to loose. I hope I saved some time for people.

Man thanks I didn't need the whole video just how to get to spring. To change it to rubber rounds but I watched the whole thing and saved it. I live in the worst state for gun laws and the worst city for it's size in the state. But I call it home Stockton California. This will be kept in my truck in it's box . I keep a loaded 44cal 1858 in my bedroom 12ga. in the saferoom. 22 on my houseboat. I've had a few roadragers get up set that I either drive to slow (posted speed limit) or honking at them at a light while they are texting their girlfriend. (Twice) is more important than going. One of them met the fate of a 1million volt stun cane to the side of his neck as he learned into my window to swing on me. Someone help me drag him out of the street and they moved his car . I left him zip tied on the sidewalk next to his car and a note of to why it happen for who ever released him.

  • @MechTactical

FPS? IIRC, and somebody else chime in if I get this wrong, but the longer the valve is open, the more gas is allowed to escape, the spring closes the valve after the firing pin hits it. So you would need a stiffer spring, you could try a shim stack or get the same sized spring, but slightly, slightly heavier wire diameter. Its worth a try, nothing is guaranteed tho.

@@MechTactical that wouldn't be an issue the valve is under 800-1000 psi no matter the weight of the spring in the valve. The slide needs a stronger spring to prevent it from having unsafe wear from slamming backwards. The only other safe way to increase fps is to enlarge the exhaust port which is basically like Opening your lips to blow out more air at once. Only other way is to replace the valve (maybe balanced ones) and hammer spring But that's a whole other thing I could go on and on about

@@josejuanvelardesevil8379 Thanks for the sub! The internals of the marker is where I drawn concern. It is not a handgun and never will be. Please be suuuuuuper careful when experimenting, the very last thing I want to hear is that somebody blew their hand off because they watched a video of mine... the purpose of me explaining how to lower the fps was so that certain paintball fields could then allow them, not for people to find a new "less lethal" opprotunity. Potentially. I am trying to find the time to get back to this topic. So the longer the valve is open, the more FPS, the opposite is also true. But, keep in mind, there may be a point where if you introduce too much airflow, the valve may not close at all. Hard to tell, I will get back to it, I promise.
