can we talk about that iconic Shakespearean opening
I just bought a cissus discolor 2 weeks ago! Love it! Can't stop staring at it 🤩🤩🤩 Thanks for making this video! Great content as usual 💚💚💚
Omg, thank you so much for this video, there’s not really any good videos on the Cissus on KZread. I’ve been keeping it close to the window where it gets direct sunlight in the morning and a lot of the leaves are crispy, so now I know I need to move it, and now I know how to propagate it! Thank you so much
Your intros crack me up! Love your videos.....keep them coming!
Amazing video! I love love love that cissus discolor and want one so bad! Definitely a wishlist plant! Your plants are so lush and full!
You always do it I’m loving 🥰 those opening
just bought a cissus discolor, such a stunning plant. Thanks for the tips!
I came online just now to look up care for 2 very different plants.... I was very pleasantly suprised to have this video recommended after only looking up Silver dollar vine. Saved me the effort of finding a separate cissus discolour video. I have over 100 plants so pretty awesome coincidence : P
Love the vine, looks amazing! So does any other of your plants! 💚

I have a Xerosicyos Danguyi that is less than 2 years old that I bought as a small rooted cutting. It is now on a 3ft U-snapped trellis. It is grown in an east facing window and supplemented with a grow light bulb. It goes quickly for me. Love the Cissus discolor.!

No problem. I found both to be easy to propagate. The silver dollar vine might just take about longer to root, but the cissus was fast.
This video has really great infromafion. Thank you! In 2 days I will get cissus discolor, cant wait..hope it will survive. 😬
Lol love your reference to Shakespeare
Another good intro. I thought of you the other day- I happened apon a plant store pop up in Yorkville village (lower level). (Not owned by me or anyone I know).

I'm SO happy you did this video! I just received both of these plants last week from an online order and my cissus has been on the struggle bus since it arrived. I'm going to propagate it and see if I can fill it in and resurrect it. 💚 Great content as always! Thank you!! 😊 One question, do you let your cissus callus over also before putting it in water? If so, how long do you sit it out?
@CrazyPlantGuy
3 жыл бұрын
Yay. Congrats. I don’t let the cuttings of the cissus or softer vining plants callous. Just put them I water after cutting.
My Cissus discolor infected with aphids, so I had to wash every single leaf. Now, it’s thriving and vining on my other plants, but then it seems the main vines are drying. I will have to move it away from direct sun and start cutting some vines too to propagate. Thanks for the insight.
Hi there, wow your cissus discolor is doing really great. Very impressed with the way you take care of your plants. I am noticing some yellow spots on mine:-(. I don't know if its a pattern of the plant or its some kind of pest. Could you please help? Also, suggestion on what can be done please? Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.
My cissus was planted in peat and looked sooo soggy, so I immediately repoted it. The roots were dark in color and didn't look white at all. I made a mix with pumice, potting mix, orchid bark and succulent soil. It has good drainage now. I hope I've done the right thing. Cross fingers
Hi I have a cutting of the Cissus Discolor for a while I didn't know what it was. Till I saw it on your video. Mine is about a foot long but I want to make another piece from it. Should I cut it or let it grow?
Hi, do you know if you can propergate cissus by just a stem and leaf cutting with no node? Thank you!

Yes I'd like 2 know too.
Do you know if we can also propagate with one leaf and one node like a pothos? I don’t want to remove the leaves to have a bare node because I only got six leaves cutting from a trade! 😭
I saw the handing plant there is one outstanding yellow leaf. Do u know the leaf turns yellow? Its similar to my plant condition now with yellow leaf where it feels soft, sometimes with black spots/black colour edges.
Don't know where's that's from , but it was funny. LOL

Hi Christian. Another great video!👍🏻 I have a question - i got my cissus from 21 seven market too, but the soil medium is really dense and retains a lot of water. Im torn with how to handle this. Do I uproot the plant and risk shocking it (but diminish my chances of rot)? Or keep it how it is? I know this plant likes to be somewhat moist so Im not quite as worried as I normally might be.. but I am really concerned about it getting rot. Is yours in the same soil as when you purchased? Would really appreciate your feedback! Thanks! 🤙🏼
@CrazyPlantGuy
3 жыл бұрын
Hey. Yes I still have mine in the same potting mix as when I purchased it. I found that it is a bit dense but I also make sure I only water when the pot is feels light and that too inch soil is starting to dry, so it’s just at the verge where the plant is almost completely dry. Also making sure that water drains through. You can also loosen the top soil with a chopstick to help create aeration.
Would it grow in a self watering pot with lechuza Pon substrate?
Would the Cissus discolor do well in a self watering pot?
do I really have to cut the bottom leaf off a 2 leaf cutting? im only getting 20 inch cutting from fb market and i donmt know if I will be successful.
What's up, Canada!?
Thanks for the video Christian! I’ve been waiting for the silver dollar vine video 💚 maybe make a video about how to take your propagations back into the mother plant? I have been trying to and I feel like I have to dig out a hole to put the props into the mother plant and I’m always scared to hurt the existing roots. Thanks for everything 🤗
I found it in the forest..n have put it in water for propagation

I'm on the fence! Someone is selling their cissus but I've heard that it's so prone to bugs 😅. What do you think?
Hi there! Do you know if Cissus discolor is safe for cats? (:
Hi i have/had it was so root bound so i transplanted it n it went into shock! I made a mistake 😕 i think i msy hav gave it too much water i put it outside hoping it will dry out some.. will it come bak ? Wat can i do ? 😭
My cissus discolor is fairly large. Recently some of the leaves developed small bumps on them. No bugs. From what I find it is plant edema from a change in temperature and it is common in this type of plant. I wondered if you have ever heard of this and what are your thoughts on it.❤️✌🏻🍃🌱🌿

update: It's dead RIP Sister Cissus
My cissus was doing SO WELL and just recently started to decline. My leaves are slowly losing their color (more yellow) and sometimes dry up. I do give it a humidity bath with my humidifier each day. I just repotted it as I was worried the soil mixture was retaining too much water. Other than that, any suggestions as to why this may be happening? It is my favorite plant!
@CrazyPlantGuy
3 жыл бұрын
It could just be in shock from repotting. Also might not be getting enough light. Hard to say, it’s all different base on your environment what you recently did, what kind of potting mix etc. Just diagnose base on what changed and monitor the plant and adjust from there.
Can this plant get "grape pearls" on it? I have noticed clear balls on my vine, primarily on new growth. I have not noticed any bugs at all. I know the cissus discolor is a relative of the grape plant, which gets sap-like pearls on it when growing rapidly, so I figured that was the next option.

You know we all watch this and have our favorite plant of Christians but you know about a few seconds into the video we start to hear that teacher's voice on Charlie Brown where it just goes wah wah wah because all that's happening is everybody's zeroing in on the magnificant string of hearts in all its Divine Glory! It's like I wish someone could edit this video to make the string of hearts glow real bright and had that Eminence sound with it. So when people come to his door... Knock knock hello Are you the one that's got the dog that chased my cat Why I oughta oh my God what a beautiful plant knock knock hello is that your car out there blocking my way I'm trying to leave my God what's that?! Etc... LOL!
