How to Camp with a Scooter for 5 Days (In the Mountains)
I hit the historic Molsworth track on my 125cc scooter, packed with everything i need, extra fuel, water a tent. 200km on gravel roads and a total of 1000km in 5 days. The max speed on the scooter fully loaded is around 78km/h (48MPH) I should have changed the drive belt before the trip but it lasted just fine. Some photos of the adventure are at the end of the video. Sorry about the wind noise!

Such an underrated video! KZread often shows me videos of riders setting off on an adventure on expensive motorcycles, or fancy gear. Heck with that, I just want to see more down to earth content like this.
I like the way you set everything up. Not a bunch of expensive factory made equipment. Not out to impress anyone. Just let's make this happen. I'm 67 and have been riding Harley for the last 40 years. Now in the market for a good used Helix. Hopping to do just what you did. load it up and go camping. Nice video.
This should be the way to go, unlike most youtubers in my country. They need it expensive and aesthetic but not too practical
You thought of everything. Well done. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
I really love compact travel like this

Yeah its pretty free feeling knowing everything you need is right there on the bike.
So cool!!! as simple as it gets.
Well done mate. Informative and entertaining. Keep it up!
Great video! I had no idea those things could go off road - mine's only a 50cc though and I'm not a very confident rider. Great to see that there are scooter camping options!
Very cool scooter adventure. Good times!. Thank you.
Hi there, thanx for your video. I use my scooter (Kymco movie 150) for some camping trips as you do. You don't need a fancy adventure bike and expensive gear for touring and traveling. Greetings from Sweden.
A true hero! Great to see
Nice very informative video for anyone else wanting to get out and explore :)
This was so interesting.. thinking about go on little trips with my 125cc, and you had some very good ideas here.

New Zeland.. beautiful.. and super adventure mate👌Nice little scooter too, i have a Pcx 125🥸
WOW. Please do another scooter adventure camping
Great vid and very informative. I have a 2011 SYM voyager 250 scooter and i did a 4 day trip from Auckland to the Ruapehu region and return back in summer a few years ago. With my underseat storage, two small gloveboxes, 30 litre top box, a 25 litre sistema container with a 50 litre soft bag strapped on top of it and a backpack i had all up about 200 litres of storage space. Did about 1000km and only cost about $70 in fuel and the bike would sit at 100-110kph without a problem. Hoping to do a trip around the Manawatu region once Covid settles down.
Big respect for the cheap-easy route. Gonna go look for “saddle bags” at the second-hand store.
woow super adventure, like it. Respect bro

Thanks!
I like your setup! And i'm thinking, you could strap the sleeping bag and tent on the back side of the box. this way you don't need to remove them when you want to remove them every time you want to open the bucket seat.
Cool deal, Thanks Lots!
Amazingggg
Fantastic
Awesome
Hi greetings from Rich en youtube. I like your channel.
Nice setup guy, I'm planning a camping trip on my 50cc scooter around western australia but I need to get my back tyre replaced because it's low on tread and has a slow leak. I like your hi vis jacket idea at the back but those sistema tubs always go brittle after a while in the sun for me.. Do you carry any engine oil or that tyre inflating foam? 😊
Way to go.
Love to camp
Right up my ally
Thanks for destroying my excuses for not going out camping with my Super Dink 125 because I though it was not "suitable" for that 😅

Do it!!
The Kymco 125 Super 8 is a great little scooter. I bought mine 11 years ago. It's now done 75,000km mostly on unmade roads here in the Philippines. Some repairs along the way, of course, but it still serves as my only transport. I ran it on knobblies for around 10 years which made a lot of difference on gravel and slimy mud tracks. Since the roads have improved in the last couple of years, I've reverted to road tyres which last much longer than the knobblies. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6SsuNiaipnaqJs.html It's looking a bit clapped-out now, so I hope to replace it next year with a Honda ADV160.
what scooter was it ?and do you still camp out
Ride a 2012 Kymco Like 200i. Thanks, gave me some good ideas.
Can u do more scooter camping videos

Haha I had to be self sufficient for a couple of nights there were no towns to stay in. But I did stay in a room once to use a shower.
Don't your tires get busted at that kind of terrain? Or do you use a special tires?

It went pretty good up the hills. fuel was fine, i actually used alot less traveling at the slower speeds than i would have traveling fast on paved roads.
