    I ordered the two auxiliary heating systems on my T6.1 California : air and water. When I switch on the auxiliary ventilation mode, the fresh air does not come out of the dashboard vents, but softly out of the B-pillar vents. This is handy to have fresh air when the doors and windows are closed, but no heating is needed. On the other hand, the (hot or cool) air does come out of the dashboard vents when I switch on the auxiliary water heating system instead of the air heating system. The water system really gets hot if you so wish.

    hi Chris - thanks for this great overview - do you have any idea why you are allowed to switch between Eberspacher and Webasto in the hidden setting menu on Cali T6? What is the purpose of doing a switch, when you turn the heating on, the heating comes out the same way - I can see no difference. I would expect that after change the heat would come of your usual airflow vents all over the car, not the right hand side B-Pillar... Any help appreciated. Best, Woj.

    Hi, really appreciate all the videos. I had a strange experience with a new ocean. I’ve put it down to me using it incorrectly. Basically, we put the heating on overnight and it appeared to be working. In the morning it wasn’t on. In the morning, I couldn’t get it working at all. The panel showed error messages and got stuck on loading. This was a bit worrying as the roof was up and I couldn’t get it down as I couldn’t access the controls. In the end it came out so I could, but still no heat. I drove home, tried again, it started to work. Not sure what happened.

    Hi we have a 2015 California which has a different control to this but I guess it’s is vey similar. Although the aux heater does use power from the battery to drive fans, is this from the leisure battery or the vehicle battery? I using and EHU does that mean it’s won’t be sapping the battery with the aux heater on?

    Hi Chris, I ve got a brand new California Beach 6.1 and Ive tried aux heater in all its configurations. It just blows cold air, even in 10... Diesel tank is full, batteries are ok, orange led light indicates heater is on, but not hot air whatsoever. Have you actually checked it blows hot air when heater on? My local VW dealer says it won't start because its summer (im in Spain) due to the thermostat...I don't think it works with a thermostat. Do you guys have any clue? Many thanks

    A question about 'departure time on 2021 Ocean (confusing name - perhaps lost in translation). Surely it should be 'heating come on' time or more meaningful. According to the user manual and various 'youtube' research, If I set a 'departure time' of Monday 07:00am, then this is the time that the auxiliary heating should come on? My heater works really well, when heating immediately, it also kinda works when setting the timer - sorry, 'departure time'. The problem is, when setting the 'departure time', the heater actually comes on 30-40 mins earlier - so, 06:30am for my example above. Is this normal? Thanks in advance (blue & yellow symbols come on as expected) Tony

  • @CaliforniaChris

    @CaliforniaChris

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Tony, the thinking behind the 'departure time' name is that it's the time you may want to depart the campsite. So when you set your departure time, you're setting the time you want the vehicle to be at the desired temperature (so the heating will come on earlier than your set time to start warming things up in advance). I've used this before when I know I will be getting out of bed at 730am. I set the departure time to 730am and know that the vehicle will be at the desired temperature when I get out of bed without having to get dressed in the California while it has only just started warming up. Hope that helps!

    Same ""weak T6.1 heating experience" here in Denmark. I´ve previous owned a 2018 T6.0 Ocean and just upgraded to the T6.1. The T6.1 heater need to be cranked up to a minimum of 8 or 9 to have any effect whatsoever. The heat output from the 9 setting in the 6.1 delivers less heat than the 5-setting in the 6.0. Very disappointing in an otherwise PERFECT ADVENTURE MOBILE. Unfortunately VW offers NO solution to the issue, so I am seriously considering to install an extra (seperate) Sebasto-heater to be able to (hopefully) get back to the comfy-level I was used to in my T6.0 🔥🔥🔥

    Thomas Mygind we have a T6.1 as well and no problems with the heating system. 3 or maximum 4 is more then enough. Usually 4 is already too hot for us. Used it in March and April, when nights were still cold.

    The settings 1-9 make no difference to how hot the air coming from the heater is. It works on a thermostat inside the intake vent. The settings affect the van temperature at which the heating switches off, not the temperature of the heated air which is constant.
