Hi, I just wanted to say HUGE THANK YOU for this video! I've been doing my CIPP level 3 for the past couple of weeks and I couldn't understand all the NI thresholds until I watched this video! Wow, after 5 minutes of watching, taking few notes (I even made the same graph as you for lunar payroll) it all made sense! Again - thank you! (and thank you to KZread that it suggested your video as first!) :)

Thank you very much for your kind words! Glad it helped and all the best with CIPP level 3! :)
Hi there !!!! I have been trying to understand Payroll Calculations and NI contributions and how they are calculated and netted off etc. Went through several videos online and found your video very handy and easy to follow. At least to me it was much easier to follow compared to few other videos I came across. I am trying to understand the full circle of the payroll process, starting from total budgeted pay, Employer's National Insurance Contribution, Pension Scheme Contribution, Apprentice Levy Contributions, holiday pay etc., arriving at the Employee's net Salary (before Employee's NI deductions, and tax deductions), and then to the Net Take Home Salary. Would be great to see a video from you on these subjects ?

Hi , thanks for making this video. Easy to understand and love the way you present. I have moved to UK recently and have been watching a lot of videos about UK Tax & NI explanation but none of them like you easy to understand. I am not sure why you seem stop making any video. I am looking forward to watch your video in near future :)

Hey Farnu, loved the video, I was wondering if you can make one on how employers calculate PAYE to deduct it. from an employee's salary as well. THank you!
wow ....so the employer has to basically pay about 8percent tax on top of the money he pays to someone else. for their national insurance..even though they pay it also?
Thanks so much, super helpful :)

Thanks for helpful video, does NI Cont have annual allowance as we have for tax. Employer did not pay for 3 months and then suddenly paid whole and paid excess ni cont. am i entitled to get refund?
May I know class 1 employer NI also pay by monthly base?
Is the income Before or after Tax is taken off??
Good day, I am considering a Social Care position in the Uk, which is offering an annual salary of 37,731. Would you be so gracious as to calculate how much I would have to pay in income tax and national insurance? Thanks in advance

Thanks for your comment Tom! Yes of course - for an annual gross salary of £37,731, assuming the tax year is 2021/22, assuming no pension contributions, assuming you are a resident in England, not using the blind persons allowance, and you are entitled to the full personal allowance (i.e your tax code is 1275L) - you would pay income tax of £5,030 and NI contributions of £3,380. No worries, hope that helps!

Who's earning £6,750 p/m?
