Thank you for sharing this! Using this as a guide, if I upgrade the gearset in my T5 without a new overdrive set, I'd be looking at an OD somewhere between 0.52 and 0.57!! O__O

Hi thank you for this video. I understand the concept for working out a gear ratio, but if I do not have the gearbox or gears in front of me how am I able to find out a ratio to start with. How would you find out a common formula to begin with. Any help with this I would be really grateful.

What is overall ratio? I see that mentioned on commercial vehicle transmissions. The Eaton Fuller RTO16908LL Transmission in my dump truck has an overall ratio of 19.68. What does that mean?

I am a little bit confused on this part. 7:25 and 13:10 mins of the video. you said on 7:25, that the Gear Ratio is 3.75:1; wherein, 3.75 is the Input(DRIVE) and 1 is the Output(DRIVEN). But on 13:10, 3.74 is the DRIVEN and 1 is the DRIVE.
