Hi, my name's Dan Delevan. I'm the owner operator of Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California. We have a great selection. We also have a website, plazacutlery.com. And today we're going to be talking about knives.
Okay. What you'll want to think about when you're looking to buy a pocket knife is how you're gonna use. If it's just going to be in your pocket, just to have, and just kind of use when you need it for opening the stray box, or opening packaging or whatever, you're not going to want anything too big. Though again, if you ask a hundred people, you get a hundred opinions. But you really got to look at it as what you're going to use it for. And maybe after buying one you're going to want a second one, because you're going to find other uses for it at certain times. I try to tell most people it's going to spend more time in your pocket than it is in your hand. So if you get it too big, chances are you won't have it when you actually need it.
I try and tell people, if it's just a pocket knife, usually you don't need more than one blade. But look at them and see what kind of works for you. You know, in some cases you like the old traditional type knives. You know, then the multi-blades are really nice, that don't lock. You know, because you can get two to three blades on them. Or you can get a Swiss Army Knife, with a bunch of different functions. Especially if you're a gadget guy. Then Swiss Army Knives are good, because there's a lot of gadgets.
Price ranges are all over. You can get inexpensive China or Pakistan knives for a few dollars. But for a good quality knife, you're going to start, you know, for the better Chinese knives, in the 20 dollar range. Even a few American made knives can start in the 20 to 25 dollar range. And then prices will go on up. And, like in the William Henry, you can spend thousands, but you don't have to. You can spend 20 to 50 dollars and get a really nice knife.
